I will admit I used to watch Top Gear, sure it was a load of bollocks and factually all over the place but they had fun in cool cars, they were funny, did stuff we would all like to do and the Stig lapping the track actually gave you some reference points. Well I now think the best Car media, and I use media as TV is no longer the sole option, is Motor Trend on Demand. Now for those that dont want to pay for the monthly fee you can just wait a month or so and it will be on You Tube but I have decided to pay the cash as I am not the most patient person in the world. Anyhow, what I like about it is that the presenters are pretty well informed, obviously they have some driving talent and they have a bit of BMW content on there. In the last year or so they had M4, M2 E30 Touring, M4 competition pack and M4 GTS. They have also had a run down of the M3 from E30 forward and some really interesting head to head match ups. Jason Camissa is the BMW guy and has an E30 touring that their test driver Randy Pobst lapped Willow Springs nearly as fast as a new 340i. There was also the infamous M4 vs Camaro shootout and the M4 vs M2 comparison. The latest head to Head involved the M3 comp pack vs the AlfA Guilia vs the Cadillac ATSv and the Merc AMG C63. Very interesting, on a track the ATSv the M4 and the Guilia all were within a second or less of each other. The ATSv was proclaimed as having the best Chassis but the Alfa was the pick. The M3 comp pack was reported as being a lot better than the original M3 and fixed most of the problems that plagued the non comp pack car. As a car guy I really like the show and there is quite a bit of other content including Roadkill which appeals to my DIY roots. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D87tO7VUs2I&list=PLA97180860447EE6A&index=10

Damn. There goes any chance of my jelly beans offer being accepted. It was going to be for a lot of jelly beans, too!

M52B28 in a compact is almost becoming common now. Definitely go the road less travelled. M54B30 would be awesome. Plus a 330Ti would really make people take a second look.

It lives again. Biggest problem was not having flywheel bolts for the new flywheel. M12x35mm fine thread 12.9 bolts are rather hard to find at this time of year. Also speedfactor isn't open till the 9th. Managed to find some that were 40mm long. So cut them down, deburred and run a die up the first thread and a bit. Also weighed and balanced them to .1 of a gram (probably unnecessary). Used the wet paper trick to remove the spigot bearing. Started with grease and then remembered wet paper was easier and less messy. Also pulled the inlet off to remove the old knock sensors. Replaced with some generic bosch donuts and wired up to a link knock block. Rerouted the coolant hoses away from the throttle body. Also started getting the spare inlet manifold ready for some positive pressure. Devcon to set the idle control valve inlet into place. Not sure which way I'll go with crank case ventilation. First impressions of the clutch. Master and slave cylinder aren't really suited to it. Not much travel but might be enough to live with. Pedal feel is a little heavier but I'm happy with it. Driveability wise it is rather on or off which isn't helped by the shorter throw of the clutch pedal. It is definitely easier to drive than the uuc stage 2 kit and I'd definitely recommend it to others.

Took it for a WOF yesterday. And... it only failed on the speed rating of the rears tyres being different So quite pleased it's an easy fix

I had the e39 03 530 MS steering wheel airbag replaced on 28th December. The e39 03 M5 is also due and will be done sometime this month. Steering wheel only it seems. At Coombes.

Welcome to the forum. Sweet ride you have there. Really like those wheels and have wanted to see a set on a E38 for a while now. There are a few members from the Naki who will no doubt chime in. The occasional meet happens up that way too.

E30 M3s have the cult following as much for thier rarity as anything else. The E36 is a very underated car and the chassis is very good, as a daily driver I would have an E36 over an E30.

The number plate light is working fine, but it's an LED beside the reversing camera, so has a different resistance than a normal bulb, so throws a warning. But yeah, while the number plate light isn't much of an issue, I also ate in that car too.

you guys commentating on the price and comparing it to other cars.. not one of the cars you have listed is immune from depreciation, where as the one in the link has already hit the bottom and is on the way back up
