8 pointsBefore, after, and my very cool garage now. E39 M5 big brother upstairs with E92 M3 little brother downstairs.

3 pointsHi there, New to the forum I have a E46 M3 csl which I have brought back from the UK. It is the Silver ver and certainly not a Garage Queen as I drive it as much as I can. I was fairly active in a few clubs back in the UK going to shows / track days and over to Germany to a certain ring for a little bit of fun. Hoping to get to see a few more Bmmers over here with like minded petrolheads

2 pointsThere are some pretty innocuous reasons why cars are de-registered, long term stored with owner overseas, forgot to put it on hold, etc. However, that is a good question, personally I would check things like that before buying a car, as part of due dilligence. Not all buyers are so switched on to background checks etc, and might not think to ask about such things. I think in terms of the laws on a private sale it is buyer beware, and even if you specifically ask and get told "she's all good" I'm not sure if there is anything you can do about it. Personally, when selling cars the amount I reveal is directly related to how much of a know-all bell-end the buyer is being, if they are trying to talk up issues they read about on the internet to get the price down then I tell them nothing if not directly asked. If they are more innocent then I tend to be more open, even told a guy that a car wasn't for him once as he was a nice family guy without much cash about to buy a polished turd off me.

1 pointHi team. It’s been a long time but I’m back. Recently purchased my dream car - E92 M3 Competition Pack. I’ve been searching for two years and although this one didn’t quite tick all of the boxes - I didn’t want white but at least it’s not black - I live in Northland - it did tick most of the boxes and I’m very happy with it so far. 2010 with up graded combox which allows for Bluetooth music streaming. Now, I’m not a techno nerd but I’m kinda useful in the techno department but, I simply cannot get this thing to stream music from my phone. The previous owner could. I can play music via CD, by saving music to the hard drive, via USB from my phone, but not via Bluetooth. The previous owner had an iPhone X, I have an iPhone 5. Is that the problem or am I missing something? Thanks in advance for any help forth coming. Edited 7 hours ago by shuey

1 pointHeaps of them on Trademe... and you can borrow mine if you still need one.

1 pointThanks guys for your collective and valued words of wisdom and reason. Some of us live behind our own dung-heaps and can't see the other side. 'It is what it is', I'll leave it for another keeper to decide then. I've included another picture or four of the car which could be an option a prospective purchaser may prefer too.

1 pointSorry @qube Kyu, it's been so long. Here's something approximating a rear 3/4 shot, from November 2018... Lachsilber goodness ?

1 pointIt’s had a full wax and polish now so the blue looks even better! Yea I did get them swapped for a set of the OEMs. The black alloys may have been BBS or look alikes but I wasn’t a fan of the shinny dish on them. ?

1 pointI was looking for a power supply too without much luck. Wanted to borrow one so I can update my i-step, seems like a much safer option is to just pay a workshop to do it (~$200).

1 pointIt's a hardship that I am willing to take on However everytime I get a chance to drive it it defo puts a smile on my face

1 pointWelcome Chris but terrible choice of vehicle as I'm sure you're aware by now. I'm happy to do you a favour and fly down to rid you of such a nuisance!

1 pointThanks for all the recommendations! I ended up buying them from Fcpeuro along with a bunch of other things I needed, however, they did not have the washers for the M16 bolt. Thinking - would a rubber washer from supercheap/repco work better/the same as a crush washer? otherwise will fork out the $3 per washer from BMW NZ :(
-
1 pointEven with GST at 15% on purchase and shipping costs and doing everything above board if you need another $20k on a $50k car I would suggest you are paying over the odds. Unless you get hit with massive bills at compliance time due to hidden problems that is.

1 pointyou can look at it any way you want. bottom line is that a 135i comes up on the market and the lowest asking price is usually $15k, what it sells for in the end may be 14k or so depending on how urgent they want the cash. Seeing as this sold for $12k, it is a good indication that re-reg vehicles are definitely not worth it because it drops the value by 20% even despite it having a lot of extra add ons. a 130i is worth anywhere between 6-12k these days depending on condition and options. I dont think anyone ever thought that a 135i was worth double a 130i. When I bought my 130i, I paid 15k and sold for 12k. At that time a 135i was 18-22k.

1 pointThanks Rob for your interest. Yeah, on the political front older cars are likely to be worthy buys if the CG report is enacted upon. Cheers

1 pointAnd remember they're crush washers, you need 4 for rack side and 4 for the pump side, one for either side of the hose fitting. And BMW NZ charges over $3 each... ridiculous. Edit: may only need 2 crush washers for the pump side, depends how the feed line attaches.

1 pointYou might have luck at zebra Onehunga. They have a white e30 there but I am not sure if the rack is still in.

1 pointIt’s been very quiet. I did 60,000 kms in it over four years, so it hasn’t done much since 2003 ish. Did the Targa Tour in it around 2000 from memory, that was 5000 kms in a week. 240 kmh along the Tauranga waterfront motorway was a real blast.
