After a 30 min drive/taking it through the rev range ? Swapped a coil in from @Jacko, misfire code gone and doesn't sound like there's a lumpy cam inside anymore. Will be replacing the rest of the coils, ordering two more shortly. Car will get driven a fair bit now to see whether the vvt code comes back. I've looked at the live readouts for vvt/camshaft /eccentric shaft values while revving the engine and they all look good as far as I'm aware in regards to angles, voltage and temps. Valvetronic motor also clicks and sets itself now when you power on the car, which it wasn't doing before being replaced. So miiiight be ok in that department.

Hey guys I'm Nige, based in Chch however like bmw I'm also a European import. Throughout my driving life (23 ish yrs) I've had numerous cars but always keep coming back to the beemers. I've had a couple of E30's an E34 an E36 and currently an E24 project and an E82 daily driver. I was looking around for a 335i but everything here in NZ is auto ? then I found my manual 135i ? and I fitted in it! ? So I've had it a year now and 10,000kms later big smiles every time I drive it. The maintenance side of things is a bit of a worry but it's had a new hp fuel pump and new vanos and new diff oil and the intake valve walnut blasted. I've replaced the oil cooler/filter housing gaskets and spark plugs and of course engine oil. About to do the serpentine belt and plugs and coils maybe clean the injectors and new seals. Always something to do! Meanwhile the poor old e24 died and has been neglected. I've sourced a fresher engine with motronic injection and am on the hunt for a getrag 260 to do a manual conversion while I'm at it. Some day she will grace the roads again! I even thought about going electric for a cool different project but I don't have the time, skills or funds for that atm. It would be great to touch base with others to make friends and compare notes as I'm very much an amateur when it comes to all things mechanical.

True story.... in 55 years of driving I have never ever had a flat tyre while driving or even been in a car with a flat tyre

Ok, this must be a members car? Absolutely lovely example, and i'm sure for many of us, we all have a sweet spot for the E36 Touring. This one is a special one as the title says it all, modified to be an Evo variant. I've seen a handful of Euro spec versions worldwide but it's great to see someone create one here in NZ. So if you are the person that owns this example, great work and lovely car, i'd be all over this if i could haha. Hope it goes to another enthusiast! https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1463024206.htm

Every Mini I had was fitted with the obligatory seat bracket extenders and the drop bracket for the steering column (Les Leston, I think). It wasn't safe for me to drive otherwise....

Could always employ an engineer and get it certified to cross all the 't's and dot the 'i's $$$$$. I've never forgiven BMW for producing the z3 and z4 for hobbits.

I did this in the old days when I had a Galant that didn't fit me! Bit of a grey area legally, but never got picked up at WOF time and I took them out when I sold it.

I had this problem in my manual E30 so simply got some heavy plate steel and made myself some brackets to reposition the seat rails 60mm further back. Probably not very legal but it worked

Seats are lower in a coupe so you'll have more room

Well two years flew by, and so did a lot of tyre rubber. Quick update... Brought a 320i sedan and turned it into a quick and dirty drift car while i worked on the 328, finished the 328 coupe and had 4 track days in it. Lots of fun and loads of learning which i have really enjoyed. Next up.. more power

I am a similar height and had no problem with my coupe, the longer doors are a bonus too!

Went to see my ex.. It has come up for sale as the guy I sold it to traded it in for an Evo8. Was hoping to maybe buy it back if it was still in good condition but idles rough, engine rattling a bit and turbo/wastegate sounds a bit weird too. Just not the same as when I had it a year ago so had to walk away. A real shame really.. its come up for a good price $20990 which is a bargain for the spec.
