Didnt update the thread much and got way off topic on second page but first page has my summary on it which is still pretty relevant Awesome car if it suits your lifestyle (as in hot hatch) Cant remember if I posted in the thread but the biggest downside of this car IMO is lack of a LSD which I feel would absolutely transform it. I was only running stage 1 tune (approx 220kW ATW) but if any more than that (stage 2) then it would be way too loose and potentially dangerous. Its one of the cars I held on to the longest (one and a half years) and I only sold it in order to cash up for a house deposit. If not I reckon I would have loved driving it even now, I even tried to buy it back a few months ago as it came back up for sale but the engine sounded a bit.. just couldnt do it. too risky. I miss this car a lot haha

John Frankenheimer's classic, Ronin. Natascha McElhone ? hustling a a 3.6 M5 through Paris being chased by Robert De Niro in a 406. We all know the car that flips at the end isn't really an M5 when it switches from Turbines to Weaves and back to Turbines again, but those magnesium Turbines were never cheap, even in 1997. Always cracks me up when Stellan Skarsgård's character only buckles up in the M5 about 4:30 in when they start going against the flow of traffic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkoFIs0nXcU

I dont where SKF are sourced and manufactured these days but they tend to be the most expensive bearings in general. Ive had FAG bearings from Germany, India, Romania etc but no issues. Im sure where BMW source them from for new vehicles is different to where parts suppliers get them from.

I spent four hours working on his car to try and help him out. But he ignored EVERY single piece of advice I gave him and thought he knew better so I gave up. Some people cant be helped

Will be listing my E30 325iS Evo 1 shortly lads, it's parts bin poverty spec with some weird 5 stud hubs on it, a 2.7 M20 (probably out of an eta), and all the front panels don't seem to be steel (cardboard?). Tacky 80's bodykit as well. Obviously worth bugger all, so will entertain offers over $6K or swap for an E36, preferably in red. Just so you know what you're getting yourself into, here's a hack journalist with no cred trying to sprinkle glitter on this turd

Parked the M5 up for the arvo and gave one of these a workout. Still prefer much slower M5 though!
