Celebrated moving back to our house with a quick 20 minute wash and sealant followed by over an hour detailing all 5 wheels 🤣 The weaves are largely presentable (small amount of curbing on each) but one is a bit manky - fortunately my spare is in good nick so will get it swapped to tide me over until I decide what I’ll be doing wheel-wise. Car is enjoying its new home - it was unfortunately parked outside in December and January. Sadly no garage for me but will be replacing the old carport with something nicer and bigger in a few months.

Wondering why my car was losing a bit of coolant each month. Not a huge amount but enough to notice a slight drop in the level. Had a peek in the filler tank today with a light, hello o ring what are you doing down there. Lol. New Genuine radiator cap acquired. I can see by comparing the 2 caps my original was actually breaking down, with missing prices of plastic from the lower section. This is how that little o ring fell off. I guess the plastic fragments from the cap are somewhere in the cooling system, or have been flushed when I got a new radiator last year. 🤷‍♂️ to be in the safe side will do a coolant replacement this week.

Yeah the dealer is trying to hide the history as it’s a mega-flip, mentioned a little way back in the thread. At least the rubbish about being built in the Motorsport factory has been removed from the listing.

Yeah 2nd hand dealer approach is usually pure greed. Minimal effort and maximum reward. I understand they are a business, but buying a car, putting a huge margin on it, then not even bothering to address even minor issues nets them no respect from me.

I don’t mind a flip, am likely to be doing one on the R53 GP I bought, but the money I am sinking into it to make it better will barely be recovered. That is why this “mega flip” feels a bit off as minor things like the two small paint defects have not been done. But there are all sorts of approaches I guess

Hi folks, had this a while but just been tarting it up, sold the convertible, no use to me during winter and was after a decent unmolested E30 as my daily and found this little gem, just a baby 318i auto (for now) - came on bottle caps but stumbled across mint 15" basketweaves (the mrs was talking to her hairdresser who had some under his house for years, lucky find!), removed the go-faster stripes it had and did a 4 stage cut and polish while the weather was nice. Sourced a decent stereo to match the orange light interior (from Bonnie Scotland of all places - matches really well and fixed up a couple of glovebox torches - got a mint reupholstered mtech steering wheel (from Ireland) via ebay and currently in the process of getting some msport seats reupholstered in the original indigo stoff fabric, also fixed the stuck odo with some new gears - will be a little near - minter when done - oh yea, and got some front fogs coming too

Nostalgia'd back to my old one. Didn't really appreciate it at the time, I am far too picky. Looking back at the pics makes it look so solid.

After four weeks installing all the parts plus another order from the states I’ve updated my auction so bumping this thread. I’ve upped the price to cover some of my parts and zero of my time…… Will still knock 2k off the listed price for Bimmersport members $42k. Added some parts pictures because well who doesn’t like shiny car parts right?

I wouldnt touch BM workshop personally, had too many issues. Basic sh*t being butchered a few times there. Id totally recommend http://www.pandsauto.co.nz/ - P&S autos know 130s well now, they apparently look after me and Matts cars and I have zippo complaints. (also one of the few places Id go for an alignment... they know their sh*t). I also wouldnt bother with mechanical warranty on a 130, there isn't much that's particularly expensive to go wrong, provide you dont start with a lemon that has something like chewed out ledge seals.

Well this looks promising, replacing the 6hp with a 8hp although quite a good idea it seemed be quite a challenge, but after looking at this it looks like it isn't the challenge it used to be. ZF 8 Speed Swap | E46 Fanatics Forum But is it refined enough to be just wire up the harness, fit the trans and drive it, or do you have to spend countless hours programming it and teaching it to shift? One of the benefits of the latest technology, the software adapts to your driving style and the wear, thus adjustments etc have become a thing of the past, they still need serviced despite what the manufacturer says.
