Even being LHD this is far better value than a what people are paying for E30's. A little modified but is still an actual M car. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m5/listing/3841346444

Some of you might have noticed my car disappearing off trademe, but I didn't sell it! I actually did start to get some decent interest with some offers not too far off the asking price but in the end that just made me realise that I didn't really want to sell it afterall. It is way too much fun and I really couldn't see anything I wanted to drive more for similar money. On another note, I'd been getting pretty terrible fuel economy in it, averaging 11.5-12 l/100km on my daily commute. Having seen how much better fuel economy other people get I was wondering whether I had faulty injectors, or something else wrong to make it so bad. Then I decided to try driving it a bit more sensibly, and now for the last 6 weeks or so I have consistently averaged around 9.5 l/100km on the same commute!! Just goes to show... 🤣

True... no doubt most (if not all) of the running gear has been swapped/upgraded to build this car. If the shell is still from an 330ci then that is good enough for me What I like about it is that it is still N.A., doesn't have a 2JZ, LS or some other non-BM engine. The builder has not succumbed to the current belief that you have to have 1000hp, heaps of ugly aero and stiff as a board suspension. I don't even care if it doesn't have exactly 500hp.... it has enough power to get the job done. And best of all it has suspension that does an outstanding job of putting that power to the ground !!! Not all roads are billiard table smooth and more power is no use if the wheels spend too much time off the ground Cheers...

The WoF didn't turn up anything unexpected which is great, so with a couple weeks to go before certification booking I have been hitting off more odd jobs: New BMW 'evo' wiper blades installed after the Bosch ones didn't wipe a patch of the window New fog lights and surrounds arrived last week so installed those Ordered a replacement clock spring which should fix the airbag and horn Installed new oil pressure switch, no longer leaks yuuusss Installed swanky little air filter for the rocker cover Probably most fun of all was giving it its first post op bath and then a luxurious clay bar treatment Will give it another wash then onto some polishing to get it looking sorta pretty. So many stone chips in the bonnet and the bumpers have spider web sorta cracking .... but looks good from five meters at least

I'm the same, decided to keep mine as well and do it up slowly. Mine's hovering at 9L/100km with combined travel, way better than the X5 currently 😂

Yeah, that's not the asking price. I hate these listings, they should be banned.

Pretty set on an E90, I way prefer the shape and look of the sedan to the coupe. Probably wouldn't even consider a coupe since the E46 kind of already fills that niche. I'm also in no rush to buy but if the right car came up I would snag it.

I'm not sure if I understand the issue but I have the kit to reset the light if the problem is fixed, or pull the codes if it's not fixed. Happy to try for free if you can come to me (Epsom).

No just stating facts, reasoning behind the airbag recall has no link to whether the airbag light is present on the dash. Your anti dealer tirade is getting pretty tiresome
