Hi people. I've bought a 130i to use for Targa Tour with my son and also track day duties. I'll be selling the 85 AW11 racecar I have had for the past 22 years as I think I've done my dash with club type racing. There's a couple of things to sort on the car, so there'll be a few questions asked and WTB's put in!! Cheers Simon

Im got the manifold off on @hunter E39 atm so i took a look. The recess below the crank sensor is concave and slanted towards the rear, i sprayed brake cleaner into it and worked it way down the rear oil pan bolts\engine casting out the middle of the bellhousing.

Safety is the trump card that gets pulled out of the hat any time they want to push through an unreasonable measure. Pure cynical politicing... they know that there is no counter argument to the Safety card. Pretty basic tactic used by government and quasi-governmental bodies when they want to introduce a draconian measure without having to provide any logical justification. Cheers... jondee

Speed cameras have proven very profitable for minimal setup costs, you can keep lowering the tolerance for more revenue safety when the road toll doesn't meet your expectations. Gotta start paying back all that new national debt somehow. Amazing what a govt can achieve under the guise of 'safety'.

it's another fanciful dream conjured by incompetents; what are they distracting us from?

The road to nothing is an absurdity !! Its real purpose is to justify spending millions on high tech cameras and other electronic surveillance devices designed to bludgeon the motoring public into complying with ever lower speed limits. Not sure how all this enforcement and revenue generating equipment is going to stop people driving off the road and hitting a tree or pole ? Cheers... jondee

Everyone knows the road to 0 means the road to 0km/h. Because if no one is driving there won't be any car accidents.

They looked pretty good when i sent it to you but may not of been completely retracted. The springs can move in certain conditions, probably more likely when doing it up. They used to come with a set with a locking plate that you removed after installing the pressure plate, seems they don't ship with that anymore. Suppose to use a special tool when doing them up, given the cost of it i doubt it's common though.

Foam in the RHS lower bolster was starting to cave in at the top. Many SR seats use the same piece and its easily available from the Capital Seating in the UK for ~$160. Very little effort and straight forward to replace so why not. The SR3 seems to be getting more comfortable so im sticking with it for now. Will try it again on some 1hr+ drives.

Up for sale is my 1996 BMW 540i I bought this for the BBS RKs it had and thought it would be a fun project to get legal and sell. It's got a bunch of AC Schnitzer stuff. It’s got the full kit: front and rear lip, side skirts, mirrors, spoiler, wheels, and it even has the ACS shifter, handbrake, and pedals on the inside. Performance wise it has the AC Schnitzer exhaust, an AC Schnitzer Strut Brace, ACS lowered suspension, and to finish it off it is running an Eibach sway bar at the front and some sway bar on the rear. I have also been told it has an AC Schnitzer tune, but I mean idk if that's actually true I haven't checked. In the time I have owned the car I have put a large amount of work into it to get it legal. The car has had a full service, I have replaced the oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and gearbox fluid and have replaced all associated filters along with the fuel filter and cabin filters as well. In addition to this routine maintenance, I have also replaced the front and rear rotors and pads, the alternator, the airbag clock spring, the centre tie rod, and almost all rear suspension arms and bushings, along with having the car aligned. The car is an absolute blast to drive, it outperforms and out-handles many lighter cars on the road. (Goes great on track too). It is also, owing to its ACS exhaust, the best sounding v8 I have personally heard in my life. The car still has a little bit of love required however. The car has a small amount of rust in the boot area that needs attending, there is a squeak coming from the front left suspension, and it seems like the power steering pump could be on its way out owing to a light whine while driving. Also the glove box is stuck closed and maybe the blower hedgehog is on the way out. In addition to this one its previous owners also decided to paint the engine cover and rocker covers blue. The front lip and wheels are unfortunately replica items, however all other ACS parts on the car are genuine. The car will also come with a genuine front lip for repair. Looking for somewhere around the 5k mark but am willing to negotiate. I've got more into the car than that but it is what it is and it's gotta go.

I am having the time for my commute along a state highway increased from 30mins each way to 40-45mins each way. Also having 21 raised pedestrian crossings installed of which I will need to cross the majority. I am going to be interested to see what this does to my fuel economy too. Introducing many new acceleration points. An OIA was completed on how many deaths in the last 10 years on this stretch of road. Answer was 5 since 2011. Of the ones where speed was a factor. The speed limit had not been a concern by those people and they were well and above any limit. But they were included in their blanket stats. 1300 public submissions were submitted in regards to the speed limit changes on the road between Featherston and Masterton alone. Zero changes were made to the initial plan....
