Looks nice. I drove one when near new and it was epic. If you buy one with all the big-ticket expenses looked after, what’s not to like?

Love that dual caulking gun! Will it be for hire?! I need to do some panel bonding at some point.

This does seem the case. Unsure if it is a NZ thing, but discretion has applied in every country I've lived in. The closest I came to that being applied was when being stopped for 120+ on a motorbike (same story - two lanes, no other traffic anywhere, perfect conditions, 2km visibility, etc) and the policeman acknowledged the speed, but gave me a ticket for 109. Not defending speeding but getting stopped for driving too fast does sometimes seem to be purely a spiteful activity with no victim, or even possibility of a victim being involved. It's made worse by the traffic cop asking "Do you know how fast you were going?" and "Is there a reason why you are travelling so fast, sir?" Like there is a reason which would avoid being penalised! (Or is there...?)

Finally the lid is back on the can !!! The Mad Max dual cartridge gun worked well but you'd be well served to be on a program of 'roids for a few weeks preceding to get the most out of it 😆 Taped all of the under sides to prevent any excess adhesive from dropping onto the seats etc All clamped down to cure. The sides were a good fit along the car body so didn't need to clamp them down. Tomorrow will get the clamps off and pop some seam sealer along over the top of the joints. Will be ready then for the second certification inspection which is holding up putting the head liner in, so i can get the B pillar's in, so i can get the rear door cards in, so i can get the back seat in etc etc

Hah! I'd take the 2020 Triangles all day every day over 2015 Hankooks! Had the Triangles on my 535i when i bought it and as much as I wanted to hate them, they were actually OK for the job. I reckon it'll grip a lot better on fresh PS5s.

Faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death loss of licence !!!!!

Rears are from 2020, fronts are from 2015. Fronts are Ventus Primes and rears are the wonderful Triangles. Pilot Sport 5s will come eventually once mechanical birthday is finished. I would say I don’t really choose to drive it in the rain (although this is hard given how awesome the weather has been) but also I won’t be driving it at all for 28 days anyway lol

Finally got the rear speakers and parcel tray installed. Changed it from black to charcoal using the same Duplicolor Vinyl & Fabric as it's a better match for the re-trimmed A/B/C pillars. Looks worse in the picture than in the flesh but definitely has a coarse texture. The speakers fit snugly in the factory plastic baskets and I've secured them with some little printed plastic fittings. The covers go on and all looks OEM.

Cerakoted Burnt bronze C-148, good for 500+ deg C they don't do a clear above about 180deg C. But a super hard one with UV stability, non-yellowing, MC-160 is what they recommend for brakes and outside, external use. It'll keep the cheesy stickers from floating away. I didn't want to spray some supercheap auto paint over this, far too good for that. Waiting for the clear to come from states before the final coat and reassemble. Stickers are higher heat type. They look quite 'munnitions military, less gold than I was hoping for too. 👍 Rears wont get the re-build kit, as all seals were still soft n pliable, fronts were not, so get full treatment once cleared. Even started the Maxx Ecu file tweaks for the cars setup

Love to see the DIY solutions !! Great concept you put together there @Karter16 👍 I got my creation complete today, just need to buy some dowel in case I need to get more travel out of mine after the gooping starts.

Got to confirm its for the right model car at last 😃 Hopefully the window moldings come up onto the roof slightly to hide the most noticeable pieces of deep resin, else might run a small strip of black vinyl perhaps ... will see when we get there but safe to say its going to look pretty sweet !! I can see why people might go with a plain 1x1 weave as the twill is fairly intense ... then again so is all the sh*t in the garage at the moment !! All back together with some light window tinting and it should look mean.
