Yup, have a bad year hike the prices up. Funny how premiums don’t drop when those same companies have made massive profits in a good year. Insurance Companies /endof

The insurance companies have never stopped their backdoor campaigns to have motor insurance made compulsory. With rate hikes like these, more and more people will simply not bother. The rate hikes being seen now are in part due to Cyclone Gabrielle. Company underwriting in most cases happened a couple of months after Gabrielle blew through, right in the middle of some of the most expensive (to the insurance companies ) period of claims in their history. Underwriting costs went through the roof, and the companies are looking to recoup their costs by raising premiums across the board.

Not sure if you are referring to the cybertruck or the i5 there, but in terms of the i5 then I would argue that it depends on your definition of enjoyment. If throwing it through the twisties with the engine roaring is your idea of enjoyable, then yeah the i5 is not for you. However, if driving from Auckland to Napier in serene comfort at not inconsiderable speed (once over the ooh how many kms range can I get moment) with wife, kids and a bootfull of week-end stuff and getting out at the other end four and a half hours later not feeling it is more up your street then I would suggest you give it a try. It also performed pretty well driving over the lumps and bumps of coarse chip in South Island as well.

AA Insurance. With them for 5 years, only claim I've ever had was a chip in the windscreen 3 years ago that didn't even need a full replacement. Policy renewal documents dropped in the inbox. Yearly premium goes up by $100 whilst dropping the agreed value of the car down to $5.8k, a drop of 23%. Nevermind the excessive maintenance and modifications, go find any 6-cylinder E46 Touring for any sort of money, let alone sub $6k. Getting the car evaluated in the next few weeks and going with someone else. Useless pricks.

I agree, the Cybertruck looks like it was drawn by 7 year olds and by all accounts, built by 10 year olds.

Made it back to Queenstown without any real issues a couple weeks back. Car is working mint after the steering pump replacement feels a lot better than it did previously. I didn't really notice a difference in steering weight between the LF-20 and LF-30 surprisingly. Fuel economy was a bit average due to my bike being on the roof but is what it is. Made full use of the touring by cramming a bunch into it. G21 Wagon in the carpark, nice colour.

Smacking a suitable size torx socket in and then using a manual impact driver would probably have it out easy enough. If you dont have impact driver have the driver then you can attempt with a ratchet.

It's for the transport switch which is only used when the car is delivered from the factory to the dealer.
