Haha, I don't code for a living, but I have coded since I was about 14. I did a BE majoring in Mechatronics (which is marketing for Robotics and Embedded Systems Engineering), and worked in that space for a period of time. So I have a reasonable grasp of embedded systems (which is what DMEs are), assembly language, etc. I would describe myself as someone who has some background in this space, rather than an expert. I certainly don't have any prior experience with disassembly, so am figuring it out as I go (although tbh understanding the concepts and being able to read technical documentation are pretty much all you need anyway). Ghidra as a tool is super-impressive at what it can do and makes a lot of it significantly easier when it comes to identifying patterns, likely function entry and return points, etc. which saves a lot of time.

SOLD Located Whangarei 330i Msport with full bodykit 140k Kms Auto(tiptronic) 3.0l rwd Fresh WOF and reg Genuine Alpina wheels (bad curb rash) Mishimoto air intake Phillips Head Unit Sunroof and alcantara seats (great for summer!) Spare set of factory Msport wheels can come with the car Since owning I have replaced oil/filter, 6x spark plugs, L/R front control arm bushings, rocker cover gasket, camshaft sensors, battery and alternator Cons Occasional rough idle, the engine light comes and goes with it. Passenger side front window not working Power steering has seen better days, unsure of cause. All round decent condition with a couple goodies. Shouldn't cost much to get back to perfect, could fix the remaining issues myself but running out of time and need the money. Still drives great and is a lot of fun with plenty of power. Lots of aftermarket goodies for these things so plenty of potential. Price is open for negotiation, and I can deliver within the upper North island for the right price.

Tidied rear armrest wiring and put all trim back into place. Tested USB C adapter with iPhone 16 which is USB C. Charging came up straight away . Phone also came up as USB entry on snapin adapter. Turned off CarPlay and tested , USB audio and Spotify app via USB c adapter , all working correctly. Charging is faster too via USB c adapter. 15 watts so more useful. So now I can run my 256gig thumb drive with quite a few lossless encoded albums off the usb b , Anything lossless audio wise on the iPhone can be played via usb c, handy for Apple Music lossless. Otherwise wifi CarPlay for anything else. Parts used. One side is done. I ended up with a set of Bilstein B12s, as I messed up with the Ohlins/3D Design. They were for an F20. I will look to do the other side tonight.

Removed, sanded and repainted the “clip-in” roof rails on the 540i this weekend. All the clear coat was coming off, amazing how one tatty component can lower the town of an otherwise tidy(ish) car. Also replaced rear windscreen rubber gasket, used a cheap eBay one but not super happy with the fit, might need to pull it out and replace with genuine.

I polished the headights using a fine compound on an orange foam pad, and the problem is now fixed!

This one is far from new, 270,000km. Required quite a bit of love to get it be a 'nice' car. We're some of the way through building a revvy motor for it. M44 bottom end, with M42 head, ITBs, lightweight flywheel, all rotating assembly balanced etc. It's all going to the machine shop this week. The short block I got from a scrapyard for $200 with 90,000km on it.

VID-20241123-WA0001.mp4 VID-20241123-WA0000.mp4 VID-20241123-WA0000.mp4 Rear loose on 1st test drive.. Car feels sooo much more solid and planted now!! Had the tyre pressures at 36psi and feels abit too firm. Way too loose!! Alot of adjustments needed to the suspension to get the grip. The other 36, with no stiffening, even no strut bars planted the power down. One thing though, she darts straight ahead, no fish tailing. Exciting Build with full blown cage steup. Authority card next, then can start the cert inspection after she's ready.

Haven't come by this thread before. But this is one bad ass looking M3. Low key and mean looking (exactly how I'd have it if I was lucky enough to have one of these).
