Exhaust back on, now with symmetrical thrust again, then I started playing with the steering wheel... This was an absolute ball ache and I'm never doing it again Started with an easy fix for skanky lemons steering wheel, stitch on a new cover. Turns out the cover i got was a 1:1 copy of the original leather.... So I thought, cool let's just remove the original leather. Things escalated. Found some 2mm EVA foam (quite cool sh*t, its hold it shape once heated, cos play people use it) and then 3m77 and refoamed the wheel, then install new cover. IPA cleans off the destroyed soft touch rubber coating on the centre easily. Total cost, about $34NZD... and waaaaayy too many hours. It's not perfect, but looks pretty good from a foot away and most importantly it feels right.

Just an update on the water leak issue. After cleaning the rear light gasket and reinstalling, I noticed that the passenger side was leaking instead of the driver side this time. I've tightened the bolts further and the lights are not leaking anymore

Did the oil Cooler and Oil filter housing gaskets today on my runabout. I should not have left this so long. I made the mistake of thinking no drips on the ground no major leak. Just spent 3 hours cleaning off the caked on oil and dirt.. She was thick.

Thanks, it's a stock exhaust with N55 135i muffler. Took me a while to find one!

I bid on this, but at $16.5k got too rich for me. I might just hold off for an S54 engine at this stage. There is another E92 M3 wreck on Facebook, guy wants 15k but its in somewhat worse condition (rolled) and has no service history of any type (including no info on rod bearings) and the seller admits to running it with the oil cooler smashed up and leaking oil, which seems stupid.

Fixed a few things on the 125i. The car a knocking sound from the rear suspension which the previous owner said was the lower ball joints however after driving it I knew straight away it was the rear shock top mounts and sure enough it was so I replaced them. The transmission was also shuddering a little bit and changing like sh*t, even though this car will be getting a manual swap I wanted to do something about it as it takes away from the driving experience in the meantime, luckily I still had about 12 litres left of the Valvoline dextron 6 from my 130i. I drained, filled and drove the car 3 times as you only get out just under 4 litres. The difference is night and day fell like a dct compared to before and no more shuddering, best part it didn't cost anything.

Well I know the guy quite well and he was pretty disappointed about it. Going off the extensive and detailed ad you wrote, he thought he was buying a much nicer rust free car. I guess he didn’t see much point in going back to you as the deal was already done and he had the car. I’ve been into E30’s for well over 20 years so he asked for my input, and I was shown the ad on TradeMe. It presented the car as a really nice example with no mention of rust at all. I told the buyer to go for it based off the pictures and the description you provided. Once I eventually ended up seeing the car though, I couldn’t believe it was the same one in the ad. No need to even get under it to see the corrosion with actual holes and bubbles around the place. One thing I know the buyer had been really excited about and was a must have for him, was that you mentioned it had a sunroof. It turned out, it was all rusty and sealed shut with some kind of sealant and there was a massive rust bubble in the roof you couldn’t miss, all never mentioned by you. I would have expected an enthusiast to have been more up front and disclosed all this. Saying all E30’s have rust after the fact isn’t good enough. You blatantly misrepresented the car by choosing not to mention any of the serious corrosion issues it had. The buyer is now having to spend a large percentage of the purchase price having it fixed. Good luck to the poor bugger who you manage to flog this S85 off to.

You do you but $9k for an engine plucked out of a puddle is f**king wild. Would hate to be the guy that shells out even half that only to find out of its origins after the fact. Was always going to happen though, wasn't it?
