A very rare outing for my 540i today - moving it from one storage location to another...

Got my bonnet back from being painted and swapped it back onto the ‘vert, and put all the bits back on it including new insulation panels. M-Tech 1 front bumper is about 90% complete, just waiting on a couple more fixings to come from Germany. And I got some shiny new badges for the boot, rather than try to replace the double sided sticky on the old ones (both in stock in NZ as well 🤣)

Note the "Staff" designation on the labels, I doubt he paid retail. But I would like to know exactly what he did pay!

That looks great! Who did the paint work for you, I’ve also got a cosmosblau bonnet and boot lid that needs painting? Also What did you use for the under bonnet sound deadening? very jealous of the mtech1 bumpers, make the car look so much better

I bought my wife a Google Pixel as I have run them for years and really like the image /video quality, every f*king picture she takes looks like some 80's soft focus soap opera as the lenses are just caked in who knows what. Pretty sure if I'd bought her a potato it would have the same outcome (no offence potatoes, you are delicious ) . I know, first world problems......

I thought I'd share a (non BMW) dealer experience I had this week where the genuine parts were half the price of aftermarket. Mrs Spinner's mitsi needed a new thermostat, and I started by looking at Supercheap and Repco and thermostats were about $80 including the gasket for Tridon brand. During the web search I found some genuine ones for cheaper out of Australia so I took a punt and rang the local dealer, sure enough $40 got me a genuine thermostat and gasket! The only downside was it took a week to arrive. So there you go, sometimes genuine parts can be cheaper
