I did my first season on stock pads, no sign of fade, only used twice per lap at Puke.

Paul, If just the head gasket, shouldn't be more than $500, I'd get it off and checked first. If it's more damage than that, I'd look for another engine, you should be able to buy and get fitted for around $1000 max, maybe less. Guess it depends on what it's worth, and replacement cost.

Hi Mark, It's a 1987 320i/4, first reged in NZ in 9/87, so NZ new, was reged as PY1719, but to the best of my knowledge has been dereged. Having been NZ new, should be basic to get rereged here. Was reged up to 04/03/2007, I still have the sticker. Hope this helps.

Afaik, the 320 pre fl hi top pistons and block so you get dissy advance options, with the fl head for better flow. This should give you 9.8:1 compression I believe. Just with these small changes the race series cars are going over 125 hp at the wheels. With cam and chipping, and exhaust freeflow, you should get to 140 or so I would think.

I've heard that an insurance company will pay out, and the wreck will be auctioned to get back what they can. Normal insurance way of doing things. Keep your eyes open

I'd check the viscous fan, if it's not working properly it can stay on and keep the car running cool until stationary.

Hi, we run one of our race e30's with the power steering lines cut and plugged and the system is dry, been like it for a year now and no problems, just like a manual rack. Your other option is to put a manual rack in it I guess.

Only way around it at the moment is to re-export and then import it again, otherwise must be 20 yrs when imported.
