Hi Guys, is anyone able to bring a set of rims back from Tokoroa to Auckland for me this week, box of your favourite up for grabs, or monetary reward if preferred. Thanks, David.
-
Can do a centre if you want Dan.

Hi Guys, sorted thanks. Went thru almost everything, changed cam and crank sensors, coils, throttle body and TPS, Ecu, checked wiring. Ended up being Ecu, I have 2 duds, 3rd one I tried fixed it. Off for a remap on Monday and Hampton next weekend all going well.

Hi Guys, looking for a M50B25 throttle body and throttle cable, E34 or E36 OK, for the race car please? Cheers, David.
-
Thanks Ash, pretty sure the loom isn't the problem though. Thanks Will, i'll have a look at that, main relay was my next port of call, hope you're right.

Ok, got home and it started, seems to play up when it's been sitting in the sun, any ideas?
-
changed crank sensor and hub, and ECU, still same?

Hi Guys, the race car has an intermittent fault. Sometimes when I go to start it, it fires and then dies straight away. Fuel pump works fine, has it's own circuit. Spark seems good and consistent. It's as if the injectors are being shut off after firing once? It doesn't happen all the time and has just started doing this. Any ideas please? Thanks, David. ps, this is the new ti, M54B30 running M50B25 electrics, vanos delete.

Thought I might add my 2cents worth to this discussion. I think it is a really good idea to get as much time on the track as you can, doesn't really matter how or where, so long as you remember a few things. As when driving on the road, always think of the other driver as an idiot and make allowances of space and time. Enjoy your time on the track, that's why you do it. Make sure your car is prepared, fluids pads etc. Make sure you're prepared, helmet, cotton overalls, fire extinguisher, current wof, unless it is a track dedicated car. Treat your experience on the track as a chance to learn how to drive fast, not how to beat the other car which is coming up from behind, or in front of you. Don't try to race any other cars, unless you know them, and have talked it through before you go out. Spend your first couple of sessions getting into it slowly. If you make a mistake then you are more likely to come out of it on the right side. And the most important thing, get out of your car with a huge grin on your face, having had the time of your life.

Go see the boys at the windscreen place.

Thanks anyway Andy, sounds like my doors.

Hi Andy, is the blue one Getscherblau Metallic? If so, how are the front doors, are they rust free? Also interested in the bonnet and the centre grill with the kidneys if mint? Cheers, David

A big thank you to Steve, Justin and Garett from SD European for their help in getting the E28 running at Taupo. Great guys, helpful to the extreme, seems to be what the Race Series is all about. They also got Neville going in the coupe, so thank you boys.
-
Hi guys and gals, the Race series kicks off this weekend at Hampton Downs. Lots of BMW race cars, over 80 entered already, should be a good show if you're looking for somewhere to go.
-
Did you fit a different crank sensor pickup wheel on the front of the crank, or take one of the belt pulleys off? The clearance for the 6 bolts which hold it on is quite fine and they may be binding on the front cover and stopping the crank from turning, I know this from experience.
-
Got one left guys, $400 cash for quick sale this weekend only.
-
Thanks Brent, I guess you missed Briefing when we were told no dive bombing or overtaking in braking areas, or corner entry? Race line for that corner is wide entry and hit the apex, I honestly didn't expect you to keep coming on your line. I apologise if you got a fright, but I don't believe you should have been there?
-
About right, they are under $200 each new.

Pretty sure you keep the plates, personalised plates belong to the owner not the car, but you will have to pay the 1 years rego.
