  1. If the UJ's are knackered or its not phased correctly a balance won't help. I'm using standard parts on mine but I had new UJ's fitted and had the DS balanced

  5. What condition are the UJ's in and is the driveshaft phased correctly ?
  6. If you surf the internet you'll find lots of things that are offensive... I could post all day... just move on...does it really matter ?? Negativety and arguements on certain subjects are not what this forum is about... Lets move on and talk about BMW related subjects... No offence intended to the OP. Most of the ones on here wouldn't even know what the Reichsadler represents, and to alot of older people the Reichsadler is offensive.
  7. That would be right. I forgot it had 270k on the clock ( showing in miles) I wouldn't touch it with that mileage
  8. No you can't unfortnately. Needs to be done with a scanner
  9. I've seen 2 with with the swirl plate problem.. both motors were rooted... BMW replaced the motors. Another one I know of the guy who was an engineer tried to fix himself... BMW wouldn't come to the party because of what he did himself. +100 on a warranty... a really good 3 year one at least. Or buy petrol with the same warranty.
  10. Chris here at work is meant to be flying to welly in the morning too. Whats the Welly weather down there like ATM ??

As Cliff has said. You need to be more specific.... it could be one of many things. If your mechanical aptitude is not the best, I suggest you get a professional to check it for you.

  15. Check the threaded cap on the top of the strut tube that holds the shock insert into the strut. It's under the bump stop gater. No6 in this diagram http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=31&fg=10

    My e21!

Nice example of an E21 Tom. Please check the edit on your OP
  17. If you took the CCM out with the ignition on you will have triggered an error code. It would need to be scanned and the error code cleared.
  18. Thanks for the info James. It's not really secret squirrel stuff. I just need the crank, rods and pistons first. Do my research first to achieve something I have in mind. I'm not throwing it all up here untill I'm sure what I will be doing and ending up with. It's just a want to buy ATM. Like all my other projects, I'll keep you all posted. I'm looking at something that may not have been done before. It may not work yet or be able to be done. Appart from the crank etc that I want to buy now. I now know who else has got the other parts that I want to measure and get more info on.
  19. Yes... in most cases unless these have been made for R/H drive. Do you have the Tardme link ?? Get a set of WAYNEY on here in the forum. At least we all know they are good & work
  20. Be careful...they could be L/H drive ones
  21. Fooled is the wrong word to use and I'm sure they will stand by their workmanship with a warranty. They are a very professional company
  22. The clamping pressure may have been wrong on the new pressure plate... it does happen... I've had faulty pressure plates and clutch plates supplied to me.
  23. *Glenn*

    McBumdubs!

Cert ???.... especially for the colour
  24. I would say they have fitted a heavier diaphram to give it good clamping pressure because the original one won't take the power of the M30 engine... I still feel they should have advised you first though. Still cheap if it all works though. I, like many on here have used this company over the years and have had excellent service and reasonable pricing. Are you sure it's not a missunderstanding over what was said ? ie: your instructions to them. Interpretation of what is said by both parties could have been misinterpreted by either of you. There will always be two sides to a story.
