You have to space the rear ABS sensors on the compact when you fit the E30 axles with the medium case diff. The outer Cv's are larger..... I've done this on mine & it all works fine. You may have damaged the sensor ring on the joint by fitting the sensors without a spacer

It probably overheated and failed due to severe wear in the gear set

Scan it... what are the fault codes ? Exact terms & not "P" codes. It needs to be done with a reputable, reliable scanner and someone with a brain

Done Picton, Blenheim, Mapua and Motueka. Off to Collingwood this morning, through Abel Tasman Park and Golden Bay. Fly home tomorrow

Just remember not to modify it if you have a mechanical warranty like Autosure... some have suffered for this in the past and there are a few inquiries going on I'm told

There is no drain on the oil cooler and you wouldn't do it as part of a standard service

That looks like it was leaking for some time. It should have been picked up in the PPI. Are you sure it was the "Euro Specialist" that last did the service or the previous owner ? Some of my customers have in the past changed their own oil and filters and then got us to do the balance of the service. You need to be very sure before you point the finger and talk to them first. Do you have the receipts for the last service ?
