I'm running 225 /45 /17 Nexens on 8" rims with my 318TI M52B28 which I do tend to drive reasonably hard (at times) The tyres are quieter than my pevious Direzza's and the wet / dry performance is great. I would highly recommend the Nexens. I can buy 2 sets of Nexens for the price of one set of Direzza's. Yet to determine tyre life though...only been on for about 1000km. My Direzzas lasted 22,000km and I'm running reasonable negative camber front & rear about 3 degrees from memory. I'm also running new Bilsteins & good springs which also help.

In the last few weeks BMW has reduced the price of a huge number of parts ie: E36 4 cylinder PCV valves used to be $171 retail...now $89 Sign of the times I guess and so much OEM stuff being imported by independants

"Rodding" is a term used when a radiator repairer removes both radiator side tanks and cleans out all the core tubes with special cleaning rods to unblock and clean the tubes in the core. Alluminium radiators dont like it and its not normally successful because the core tubes are usually quite thin....they usually wont pressure test and they will leak

Yes...I was referring to his water problem ...not the airbag fault There are four components in the passengers seat for SRS Occupancy sensor Control unit Seat belt receiver (actuator) Seat belt receiver wiring loom (very problematic) And you will need a scanner to do an SRS reset Some of the DIY repairs are illegal ie: resistors to fool the system My advice....get it done properly by someone who knows what he is doing
-
Dont drive it anymore....get it towed to a BMW specialist to diagnose. SRS system needs to be scanned....its not DIY

This thread has reminded me of something that happened years ago We used to silicone peoples tyres and spray a very nice deoderant in customers cars when we did a service. A customer, who was a very good friend was late picking his car up one Friday night. We were having drinkies after work, Herb turned up (late) and had a couple with us, then we all went home. Next morning Herb rings me....I'm in the sh*t....wifey has accused me of having an affair...reason... being late, smelling of beer & perfume. I had to give wifey a ring and straighten things out...so did his boss We still silicone tyres.... but nothing else I have a very strict rule now. Never do anything or put anything on a customers car with out their permission. I even got abused by a little old lady. She came to pick up her car....came storming into the office...." who gave you permission to put new tyres on my car ??"....Mam.....we havent.....we just siliconed your tyres. I forget what colour red she turned.. hellrot I think On another note: when taking your car in for servicing or repairs....its wise to make sure nothing personal is in your car... you'd be amazed to know what we have found when repairing cars...we sometimes have to remove gloveboxes, seats and work in boots.... all toys, personal photos, spare underware etc should be removed I think I could write a book......maybe I should

Dissconnect the battery and undo them Edit: With the battery dissconnected, remove the alternator off its mounts, turn it end for end and undo the wiring....easy
-
The pulleys will make your wallet lighter...dont know what that will equate to in HP gains though BTW: Seriously, I have a waterpump one here if you want it.... alluminium and FREE You'll need to get a shorter drive belt for it though

I'd be checking hub nut, axle bolts (diff end),calliper mounts, disc pads...they could be moving in the calliper..especially check the inner pad and make sure the clip holding the pad inside the calliper piston is not broken. If all thats good check for loose suspension bolts, shock mount, or control arm mounts and bushes.
