Anyone have problems getting to work ??? Sounds like Kaos out there in Auckland going by what I heard on the news. Truck hits pole ?? a road rage incident ??

Have you tried your yellow pages and looked for an Automatic Trans Specialist in your area ?? There is a procedure to follow and the correct oil must be used dependant on transmission type. Get them to replace the gearchange shaft seal and the wiring loom socket seals while they have got the pan off as well... its common for those to leak. It would also be prudent to clear adaptions after the trans service.

The bonnet release cable has come out of one of the lock levers. Remove the kidney grills and you can get to the cable. Pull it from that point, the lever in the car wont have enough travel. Failing that you need a long thin screw driver to unlock the levers. Once you open the bonnet you might have to take the front panel off to refit the cable into both lock assemblies, thats if the cable isn't broken. Not the easiest to do and takes time. We did one about three months ago. I think we took both headlights out too from memory.

She could buy "LOWLDY" off my daughter

This was covered in a thread last week from memory. Its probably a crack in the heated rear screen laminate. Check this advise from Jochen http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=16602

As promised...subtle and I like it Great job done by Dave @ Euro Collision

I'd suggest scanning the systems for fault codes first. Could be a camshaft speed sensor or air mass sensor fault, going by your explanation. The cooling system is another matter though and probably not related at all. Give me a call Ph. (09)2722546 Cheers Glenn

I'm going to try and buy a whole (damaged) vehicle for the conversion....Its easier that way, and cheaper two. Just sell what I don't need when its finished. As for the diff...I'll have to get an E30 LSD with the right ratio or swap the guts into my present 3.64:1 which is an E30 medium case and I've already fitted the larger axles.
-
Yes I did thanks Yuen $100 Gets fitted tomorrow @ Euro Collision BTW the finish on the genuine artical, which was brand new and still in the box wasn't that flash. Dave said thats quite typical with Schnitzer products, so we decided to prep it before painting and fill in the Schnitzer emblem because it had quite a few bubbles in it. Anyway, its only a spoiler, the rear hatch lip was the same. I'll need a new BS sticker too, as I've got to take it off the hatch to fit the spoiler. I might get Shelly to make me 2 to fit on the quarter windows or the side skirts. I'll post a picture when it's all done.

We use 5W40 full synthetic BMW NZ say up to 1.5 litres per 1,000 km... and say it is acceptable
-
More than a handfulls a waste anyway..... small ones are nicer
-
They hold 10 litres Graham @ $20.oo a litre +GST
-
BMW just said it was normal for all late model M series vehicles. Not a fault, they just sacrifice oil.
-
A customer has just bought a 2005 M5. It uses oil. Spoke to BMW and they tell me this is correct ?? An acceptable oil consumption is between 1-1.5 litres for every 1,000km travelled. I'd be really pissed off if mine did. A luxury, sports, european vehicle costing sh*t loads of money that burns oil at that rate ?? They top up the oil for free while they are under warranty or if they are on a BMW service plan.

If its Bosch you must replace with Bosch, Siemens replace with Siemens...no mix & match unfortunately
-
Second hand will likely give you trouble...unfortunately you will have to go new from the stealers I can get bosch at better prices ...but not Siemens
-
No...it will leak Get a motor reconditioner or a good technician to do it for you and replace all the studs as they are prone for breaking Where abouts are you from ??...if in Auckland I could do it for you Cheers Glenn

Compliments and appreciation is what we all like to see on here. Promotion of the good guys is better to read than a one sided rant. And good on you Tastic for not doing the name & shame bit.
-
I totaly agree with you on this Graham, Service providers and suppliers can't always get it right first time...sometimes sh*t just happens. So long as the person takes responsibilty and sorts it...thats all that matters. I dont agree with name & shame on this forum at all, no matter who it is. I dont think its the right thing to do because you can't always get both sides of the story. On another note....If you go cheap, buy cheap, be prepared for problems, unless you really know what your doing or talking about. Just my rant... 2 cents worth
