Hi Mark... I've sent you a PM with names & phone numbers of members that might be able to help you with a cylinder head or motor. There may be others as well on here who might be able to help as well. Pleasure talking to you last night.

There are no specific brackets you can buy. The brackets are welded on and considered a part of the inner guard. Just the same as the air box brackets. -

An ignition coil fault could be the culprit. Had the same thing with a car on Monday. A scan may pin point the fault.

We use Wurth hose. Places that stock Wurth products should have it. BTW: it's 7.5 ID and get the proper EFI hose clips ... a Wurth product as well

The mounting holes for both boosters are the same. You need to use the 160 bar powersteering pump, accumulator (bomb), and the larger resevoir with all the appropriate plumbing. It would be best to run a cooler as well.

You don't need to change the plugs..just the washers. They are just an alluminium washer you can buy anywhere. Hardware, repco etc.

If you know someone in the area with a lathe...get a piece of dowel or broom handle and machine it to suit the spigot bearing center and clutch plate.. use this
-
Do it by eye..its not that hard. Line it up centering the splines relative to the spigot bearing with a screw driver. Just put the pressure plate in place and do the bolts up finger tight so you can align it before tightening up the bolts.

Possibilities: Alternator idler bearing Alternator belt tensioner AC tensioner Disa Valve (M43) Engine mounts (N42 & N46) Loose plastic engine covers (N42 & N46) Cat convertor As Brent suggested the air pumps can be noisey as well, they would also be noisy in park & not be effected by putting into gear. If the EGR diaphram fails they fill the pump with water which eventually destroys the pump. It would help to know what engine is in your car. What is your location ? Maybe someone can have a look / listen for you
