  1. Had a bad run of luck over the weekend - went to tow Touring 2.0 into my brothers work to get stuck into the auto swap and the 323 shitbox wouldn't start. Looks like a faulty starter motor. Currently have 3 cars none of which go. Think I might pay someone to fix it as I need a car ASAP. However, I did manage to get towed in Monty which is the closest I have been to driving Monty in a long time. I enjoyed more than I thought I would so I'm super keen to get this thing back on the road. C'mon on the boat!!
  2. Factory wheels if you want them - http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/51009-e46-m3-18-inch-wheels-and-tyres-standard-sizing/

    E36 Jatco Help?

Better off to ditch the jacto. _Mark_ (IIRC) spent $000's of his mechanical insurers money trying to fix it and it never went away. You are better off getting hold of a ZF auto, so much better. Brent usually has a couple.
  6. How come you prefer the z3 shifter? I had thought about going for a z3 shifter as well but will consider the UUC kit. Still got at least 6 or so weeks before the gearbox turns up to make a decision so will look into it.
  7. Where did you get the e30 from PJ? The number plate looks awfully familiar
  8. I ended up going with a 6 speed Just have to sort a clutch and flywheel setup for it and it is all good to go.
  9. You can never have too many tourings.
  10. So I came to the realisation that as of last weekend I have owned this car for two years and got pretty much no where with it but progress is starting to happen a bit more frequently now. The last 6 months have been crazy for me personally but the good news is I now have a bit more spare cash to spend on it, yay! So much so I ended up with 4 cars. Since then I have sold the e46 and now use the 323 sedan as a daily. I picked up this very tidy 328 touring with a busted auto so out that came, thanks to my brother and the hoist at his work. Since I planned on doing a manual conversion on Monty, I need to find a use for the auto that is in it at the moment so it will go into Touring 2.0 and be used it as a daily Also got hold of a staggered set of Throwing Stars I'm think about polishing the lips, painting the covers a dark grey and putting them on the silver touring. All of this has provided more motivation to get cracking on Monty so here how it sits as of today, prep'ed for gearbox removal hopefully next weekend. Recent purchases for it include a manual conversion kit from an m3 and a cat back zorst also from an m3. Once that is done, stage one will be complete and start saving for the next stage.
  11. If I can work out a cheap way to ship an m3 evo mid section from Auckland then I'll have one for yous.
  12. My mate has been trying to get me back into an e30 for a while and your car Andy might be the tipping point. Love everything about!
  13. Do you/he have the ability to get items down to Christchurch once they arrive in Auckland? Eg via Mainfrieght?
  14. What about us who work in a call centre, earn good coin, and also can throw around a spanner or two? Can't I have it all?
  15. Well at least can read what the hell is wrong with it. Its probably the most tidy handwriting I have ever seen from a mechanic
  16. Spotted _Mark_ turning of yaldhurst into Curletts on the way home from work. Still looks and sounds good as I remember
  17. Def 5 series offset, look at that poke!
  18. I think it is because he didnt get any other offers. Sounds like you have had a good week, how many bmws are you up to now?
  19. Haha well it is sitting in my driveway so read what you will into that.
  20. Im pretty sure he pinched the one off Facebook. I almost grabbed it just to piss Justin off ;-)
  21. The m5 wheels will be fine as long as you don't run m5 tyre sizings. Standard e60s came with 19x8.5 et18 and 9.5 et32 meaning a difference of 6mm and 4mm respectively. As long as you aren't super low and run proper tyres as Kyu suggested, no need to roll guards.
  22. Yes those should be fine. Got any pics for the wheel whore in me?
  23. This sh*t is so cool that someone here in NZ is able to do this. Mad props to you Tom. I just wish I had more time to learn and understand this type of thing more.
  24. E39 lip?? Looks good.
