Becasuse of the Quake in Christchurch, work has sent me off to Auckland for at least a week. Now I'm not sure when or if I'll get any time off but what is there to do in Downtown? Even if any just wants to have a beer or several after work I can probabley sort something. I'm working in Union St and staying at the Heritage around the corner on Nelson St and will be on foot or bus.

If you have to run spacers then you have the wrong offset. Ideally you want an offset around 20p and that should sort out you issues.

I don't see what everyone is freaking out about. We never lost power, water or anything and with nothing to do, score ourselves some kfry and pizza and have been drinking all day. I have to say I do feel priviledged to get away with things and do feel sorry for everyone who go caught up it the mess. If anyone needs help or just a shower (ladies only) let me know

Some places are worse than others. Everything at my flat is fine and we got power. Just spoke to my flatmate who was at her boyfriends in Opawa and there is buildings are stuff everywhere. To make it worse, her boyfriends Dad died last night, non Earthquake related.

This is pretty much in place here in Chch at the moment as there's a one way door at 3am and most places close at 4 because there's no point in staying open if people can't come in to spend more on drinks. You go for a walk around at that time and the place is a mess. It puts extra stress on the fast food places as they are all within 20m of each, there are lines for taxis because they can't keep up with the influx of people leaving some people stranded for up to an hour. There are more chances of seeing a fight in Kfry than in a bar cuz people get annoyed at waiting in line.

That's my whole point. It's been inbedded in us from previous generations and of course I'm not one to be left out of it, I've done some stupid stuff on the piss. What needs to happen is to break the cycle so to speak which will stop excessive consumption and the issues that come about because of it. They need to make uncool to black out and do dumb sh*t but that isn't going to happen so the issue is not going to go away.

Bingo. We were talking about this the other day at work and it has become socially acceptable in the younger crowd to go out, get wasted and then brag about how f*cked up you got on Monday.
