Come on people, buy my touring so I can bring Jocks M5 back into the BS family. I will consider sensible offers and will even throw in the Alpinas if the price is right. Trademe

But 6'3 is little ! -
I personally dont see the point it buying one thats just the make or model of the car , especially if its just a standard car. E30V8 is good though because it gets people thinking. But I wouldnt have a 'special' date or my name or anything, but there is a plate I would have (two in fact) but they are so obscure Id have to keep explaining them to people or have the extra words on the bottom to explain them !

Are the majority of car sellers on trademe dreamers??
martyyn replied to Avenged.SSE's topic in TradeMe discussions
Id disagree about the 'widely known worth' statement Carl. I wouldve had AT LEAST 30 phone calls asking if I would let them go for 500 or less, but I take your point. In the current market you could argue that Im asking alot for my 325, but (bar the dash) its in mint condition inside and out, full sports leather with new springs and shocks and only 98000 klms. People might consider me dreaming asking 4.5k for it but Ive two people come to collect my parts and they have both said they would pay 5k for it if they were in the market. Neither were the 'ricer' type though and knew the true value of the parts they were buying. So Im happy to wait until one of them turns up -
It looks like one of my boys hot wheels cars ! I actually dont mind it standing still and from a distance, but the moment you see that the tyres are nothing more than a lick of black paint on the alloys, I just cringe and what it must be like to drive.

Are the majority of car sellers on trademe dreamers??

What you guys are all forgetting is that an auction on trademe is only for a week (generally) and unless you just want to get rid of the car you are not going to get the 'right' buyer in a week. If your selling something of obvious value then you need to treat trademe like a classified and just leave it on there and wait for that person to come along. Not everyone has a dozen saved searches and spends two hours a day just looking at BMW's ! I would say that those people who are wanting to get a decent sum of money for their cars are quite prepared to wait. Just because something doesnt sell in a week doesnt necessarly mean its over priced. As an aside Ive been laughed at on here with some of my asking prices, especially for my Alpinas, but I didnt even have to market them on trademe before I getting my asking price. In fact everything Ive sold has gone for more than I asked for on here so perhaps Bimmersporters are just a bunch of tightwads -
Now there's a thought, but Grant has apparantly got in before me with the e23

You have no idea how tempting it would be to put Marty's engine in something, but as someone who gets by with changing wheels, bulbs, oil and filters swapping a 400bhp motor is a little beyond my comfort zone !

Here's the deal. As nice as the touring is the wife prefers her Focus wagon (dont ask) and we dont need two wagons. I still have the e30 but its too small for me, so Im looking for something bigger (a 5 or 7). For the right car Im prepared to spend my whole budget but I have some exacting standards. Im also happy to buy something cheaper and spend the rest on getting it sorted, but I have little time with a young family and so would probably have to pay someone to do it. Anyway, this is what I want in the end (in no particular order). Manual (preferably from the off as a swap will cost plenty) 3l as minimum, so m535, 535is, 540is, 735i that sort of thing. Either on a sports suspension or able to be done. LSD Leather (preferably 'real' recaro's or in the case of an e28 M5 leather would be the aim), if heated then even better. Colours (red, dark dark grey, silver or black), possibly shadowlined depending on the colour. Wheels (Alpinas - possibly style 5's) Body kit ? Not so bothered, depends on the model of car I suppose. E28's can look superb without one but some e34's look too bulky with one, again I think colour is a big factor in this. Aircon is nice, but not a show stopper, as is a sunroof. Basically its time for something that goes like stink, sticks like sh!t to a blanket and looks the part, I want it mint inside and out. This is going to be my daily as well though, so it needs to be able to put up with a bit of traffic too to and from work. So anyone know of anything for sale or have any suggestions ? I know about the two m535's on trademe at the moment, but I dont want white and the blue one in Wellington needs an awful lot of work doing to it to get it road worthy again. Im prepared for a project but perhaps thats a little too much right now. Two examples Cheers Martyn

Thats great news Riley, well done to Glenn as well.

Hmmmm the web tells me that are likely to be from an e38 but do fit perfectly well on an e28. If I had an e28 I would be all over them, but sadly the touring needs to go before I can get back into an old car again Anyone got a manual m535 for sale ?

What 5's and 7's are we talking about here....e28's and e23's by any chance ?
-
Thats because people keep voting Bravo.
