  1. Sorry mate, Im not trying to be an ar$e, you sell them for what you can get, but I can have a new screen and a mark4 nav for under 1500. So good luck with your sale.
  2. An awful lot less than that !Ill pass thank you.
  3. Ive heard good things aboout Dave Hadleys too. Will be taking the Alpinas there to be refurbed when $$ allow.
  4. Sorry fella, Im with the others. Do what you can to get your stock tacho going. But if thats not a goer, then please please please dont go all rice and stick one on the dash. Youve done a cracking job on the car, dont spoil it by compromising at the final hurdle. Unless of course you want a huge tacho on the dash, then go for it
  5. Selling due to lack of use.....WTF ! Id do my shopping one item at a time if I owned that....drive the car man for crying out loud.
  6. I doubt you'll get any bites until you tell us what you want for them.
  7. Its all relative to what you get paid though isn't it rather than a straight conversion on the exchange rate. I would put close to 100 quid in the 750 four years ago and although that sounds like a lot of money over here it wasn't a lot for what I was being paid.
  8. The 7 was 150 a fill the last time it went up, so this is nothing new. The price of petrol is not going to stop me from enjoying my cars if Im perfectly honest.

    750i

Yeah me too. I was in there looking at the ML500 they had as we needed something for the wife to carry the kids around in that doesnt break her back (long story but the touring is murder for her). As soon as I saw it though I had to consider it as a dark horse, it was lovely....in the end the wife decided she wanted a Focus wagon so picked one of those up the other day Still I get to keep the touring for myself and Im already thinking of mods

    750i

That wasnt a blue one was it Mark? I think I saw the same one. It was an individual car for the BMW NZ MD at the time, dark blue with white leather and blue piping and was one of the best examples of a 750 Ive ever seen. It had everything ticked from the options list that one. Incredible what you can get for 30k these days.

    750i

Im sorry mate but those statements are just rubbish. Apart from the first one! Ive seen a couple of fully spec'd 750's go for under 30k recently so its not that much of a bargain.Anyway, the V12 is well known for being an easier engine to work on and for being a much more 'simple' engine in terms of its techonology. For that reason its often considered much more desirable to buy a v12 than an v8. The cost of running is high yes but what do you expect for something like that? Although to be fair its not a great deal worse than a v8 in the petrol stakes, it all depends how you drive it. Maintenance is like any car, you ignore it at your peril. My 750iL was well looked after and was the most trouble free car that Ive even owned. 750's are not all iL's either. They came in standard length as the 750i...funnily enough. You also dont buy one of these for the handling. Having said that the EDC is rather good and they do rather well for a car over 2 tonne.
  13. Mmmmmmmm Imola red Always wanted an e38 740i sport in Imola red.
  14. Its not 'cloth' cloth, its alcantara (fancy suede to you and me)....pretty much all the m-sport wagons come with it. Still a well spec'd car and rare car in this country but unless you really want a 530 touring Im sure you could get better value for your 33k elsewhere.
  15. Of course you wouldnt be condoning the removal of illegal (and potentially dangerous) items solely to replace them again once you'd got your WOF now would you.
  16. I have a 1990 SA built 325i for sale. Only 98k kms, no rust, no dents, leather interior, electric everything, cruise, aircon, new suspension, send me a PM if your interested

    New Arrival

Woohoo congratulations to you both Grant.
  18. I think this one is a bit of an old wives tale. From what Ive been told (I have a 528 touring that apparantly has the Jatco Jerk - I didnt notice anything to start with and it doesnt happen everytime) the problem is that whilst the car sits in the great Japanese car park (aka downtown) the fluid in the gearbox heats up too much which in turn strips the lining from the interior walls. This then gets to float around with the fluid and causes the jerkiness. One solution is to rebuild the tranny. The other is to flush it with new fluid (a cost of about 800 at the dealers as the oil is 600 alone), replace the filter and see what comes out. If its full of bits, you drive it for a while and flush it again (with another new filter) to see if its all come out. So thats two flushes at approximately 1600 vs a gearbox rebuild at about 2500. Thats how the dealer explained it to me anyway.
  19. Just a general comment Mr Tire, not at anyone in particular
  20. The weight of it alone would solve your slag dilema though
