As already said - Love the colour. You've got a nice car there
-
Aye??? Mosens are bloody competitive with their pricing of parts.
-
One nice car - well done! You shouldn't be dissapointed with the 2.5, no rocket ship but quite ok. Great to see another E39 on here
-
Yep too early 09/2001 was changeover
-
HB fella. Hope you've had a good one
-
I do. Depending on build date in 01 as to whether it has world tuner or not. PM me
-
Yep, seen this before, not on mine though. One motor is not driving. More likely a drive cable/linkage fault than a faulty motor. Seat needs to come out to confirm the problem. If you bought a warrenty with the vehicle - the dealer probably won't want to know & push you through the warrenty channel. Depends on excess v cost to repair as to whether feasible to claim.

^^^^^ Yep unfortunately you are correct - Falcon is the version we use on the rears
-
An absolute legend. I too still remember the day. Was very sad indeed

Great work & great to see another E30 saved. Good on you guys! Do love the colour even if it's not an original option Gotta love the paint booth too
-
^^^^ My bet it's flooded. Remove plugs again, clean & dry, or better - replace With plugs out, wide open throttle & crank the engine to clear. Refit plugs
-
Yep & pretty handy foot work too
-
HB Mark. Have a good one

^^^^^ Priceless! HB fella Edit: Except.... blue & white on the cake are round the wrong way

Clumsy e30 owner who leaves his lights on.
hotwire replied to DunedinDan's topic in Electrical system
^^^^^ That... or a simple little 12v buzzer & connect across park light & ign circuits. Will then come on when lights on with key off. And no - the E30 never came with light warning buzzer -
Dunno sorry Matt

Don't quote me but Jochen was experimenting with Navcoder via BMW 19 pin plug & OBD2 Mine is just an interface I made up from his diagram on his Navcoder site - where it just connects to 12v & earth & to ibus circuit - a simple unit to make

- The Jap DVD nav unit is useless outside Japan. NZ map disc will not work in it. - The system can be converted to NZ spec but requires replacement nav unit & slight wiring mod to suit - I have done heaps - a brilliant system & well worth converting. - Yes it can be removed - may as well do if you don't want to convert - Yes AV input can operate Ipods, a seperate DVD player etc - Can also operate factory integration reverse camera. - Being 03 - will have world radio tuner too. If not already done - can be reprogrammed for here. Can help with all of above - PM me for rundown Cheers Grant

BMW E39 Interior Project complete! MANY PICS!
hotwire replied to tobytoblerone's topic in Appearance
Very well done - I like it as an option. That said - I do still like the "Black" as well -
HB mate, see you next month
-
Yes you can - NOT all batteries are MF - by no means. Otherwise - I wouldn't have mentioned it. And... many MF batteries have cells that can be accessed.

Need a new Nav unit or radio module?
hotwire replied to Dogballs's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
I was originally told by Jochen to tune to either Austria (as you mention Dean) or PAL Europe. Seems bloody illogical that they include all the almost unheard of little countries & not include NZ That said - some vm's do include NZ - my 16:9 replacement does, as do a few others I have come across. My original 4:3 didn't as don't most I have seen. There seems to be no ryme nor reason as to which do & which don't -
It sounds very much like the battery at fault in this case. That said - it could also be current draw. Without checking - you are only guessing. Battery test - Hydrometer (cells even & charged) & if showing charged - load test Current draw - ammeter in series with battery lead
-
In the car? Key on - ign light should come on & go off when running. check voltage at battery - should be around 14v engine running Alt has two wires - a main battery supply & the w/l wire above. If the ign light doesn't come on with key on, earth the blue wire at the alt - light on = faulty alt, light still not on = wiring/bulb - w/light circuit. Make sure the alt battery supply is infact alive.
