  1. ^^^^ Euroline from memory
  2. E24 & an old E12. Looks quite sureal in there
  3. Thats not a proper BMW part number. They are an 11 digit number
  4. Yep some stunning cars on there. Oh for a BIG garage & cheque book
  5. Car looking great but gotta say - I prefer the original look grille on that colour combo
  6. Yep I have - a few years ago. As have several others on here. Quite straight forward but Customs etc get their pound of flesh. Port charges, MAF charges, AG charges, importer charges this end, GST on everything. LTSA fees. In my case - about $700 for the above + the GST Then a rigorous compliance test this end Edit - the GST is on the total transaction (inc car)
  7. Dont know why you don't connect camera video as I described - the proper way! AV can then be used for exactly that - an external AV input
  8. Trace the wires back to source & disconnect
  9. Thanks John for the vote of confidence - Glad you are happy with it A pleasure to meet you yesterday.
  10. You still do not have it wired correctly. Earth is a straight brown (no trace & NOT black) or connect straight to earth. Relay pins 85 & 87 + camera earth. Reverse is none of the wires you have mentioned - hense switching off with lights Reverse is white/yellow or blue/yellow. (from memory E46 is the same as E39) Camera supply better wired to acc supply rather than reverse so as to avoid any delay on power up with reverse selection. Have you connected video to pins 13 & 14 as I described? Edit: wireless cameras are a complete waste of time - very suceptable to interference.
  11. Again - you are wiring it incorrectly:- My above description is the correct method - i have done/seen through well over 40 installs of reverse cameras in BMW/Rover. The VM is, along with AV input, also equipped for reverse camera input - as per description. Connecting via AV is a waste of time as it is a completely manual selection - defeats the purpose YES you do require a relay. Can be got from the Repco's / Super Cheaps or any Auto Sparky
  12. Wired completely wrong! Haven't fully read that link but: 13 white plug video + 14 '' '' " braid 17 blue plug switched to earth when in reverse - via relay
  13. Yep, know what you mean with mobile in car nav units - the Navman in my work ute is crap in this regard too - slow to react to change of direction at intersections & cursor often veering off the road - compared to the BMW system - which is way superior. That said - can't say I have ever seen a - altitude reading on mine. Come to think of - don't think I have even seen it at 0 - even at sea level
  14. It could have or at least be prepped for alarm. I any case it has factory immobilisation so the car will NOT go without the proper key. So having the warning LED as a deterent - even if no alarm - it is probably not woth bothering with adding
  15. No sorry, only BMW Yours is Jap domestic market & from memory has no English option as it was never intended for use outside of Japan. Unlike ex Jap Euro cars where they were built in Europe & specced for Jap market so Jap content more simply reversed. Could probably be done, but as with BMW, would require removal of Jap hardware & retrofitted with world market hardware & NZ mapping - assuming there is applicable NZ mapping available.
  16. ^^^^^^ All the main fuse box relays are the same configuration Jon
  17. ^^^^^^^^ 100% and some. And what everyone else has said. This one only marginally better than the first & not suitable if you cannot do repairs/ maintainance yourself. Even as I can - I still would not want that one. Believe me & everyone else - it will only leave you with a sour taste of the marque.
  18. ^^^^^ Yep, fitted one to my car. A fluke, & a little luck that the garage remote is the same frequency. Did check it before fitted it though:-
  19. ^^^^^^^ Yes - aim at the clowns nose on the rear view mirror
  20. Personally, as much as i like cream in some cars - I can't imagine cream inside, black outside as a combo My 2 cents
  21. Google:- http://www.robinsoninstruments.co.nz/
  22. By all means check it yourself for an obvious problem - if you can solve the issue then all good. EDIT: Oil light I mean Robinson Instrument Services in Auckland are one option for pixel repair
  23. Ummmmmm... think he said they were all gone. Think he also said someone was selling them on trademe
