  1. Jon, give me a shout if you get stuck with electrics etc - obviously just been there/done that on mine. There are a couple of variations with vacuum hose setups on Ljets too Remember - 2 weeks to go - no pressure:-
  2. So Jon - that's the last bit to get the engine running?
  3. Take out the pump & check for blocked filter on inlet. Had this symptom (little water then none but pump still working) the other day in my E39. I initially thought my 18 month old pump had shat itself, upon removing it -found the blocked filter.
  4. Think you will find you won't get a standard surround on the Jap boot either - I couldn't. Mine only has on the front
  5. It has come on for a reason so get it scanned & fix the problem properly. Even if reset - it is only masking the problem until it reoccurs.
  6. Agreed^^^ but if the fabric was mint - they would be worth some $$$ Edit: And door cards probably half what you are looking at realistically
  7. Ratshit service Jim Have you queried him on it? If so- his response?

    Favourite brew

YEE HAA - Caught a fish!!! Nothing better to me for refreshing on a hot day - is a COLD beer. Maybe what I'm used to but I don't go much for beer that's not chilled - whatever it is. Yep, agreed though - no such thing as the "best beer" I'm not fussy but there are limits to what I will drink "Don't need to be chilled even in Summer" - That's cause UK doesn't get "summer" isn't it?

    Favourite brew

Hey Jon - I didn't think the Poms made good beer, adding to - they drink the bloody stuff warm I'm with Dave & not precious - nothing wrong with Red. Otherwise - also partial to a Stella or Steinie Pure & on occasion the odd Guiness
  10. To my knowledge it is - if a light is fitted - it MUST work. Meaning reverse light lenses - lamps should work
  11. Yep, good day had by all I think Great to meet some new faces on here - and the old Sorry Ian (Ian 540i6) that we didn't get that ride in - time got away on me. Great to meet though:- Good to see there was no carnage in the wet Thanks James for organising

    e39 523I

Might be prudent to look into that officially. You/the owner will be able to tell if it was sold/first registered new NZ or imported/registered & the year of that first NZ registration. -Was that in 2002? There is a stigma with Jap imports for some people & if it is not then you might have a larger purchasing audiance by not stating that it is. If it is infact ex Jap - all parts I stated previous post have been changed

Imported from Japan - Don't look like it Euro Dash Cluster Euro boot lid 523i badging - not 525i as per Jap NZ new or maybe ex Singapore?
  14. Looks the goods Josh Good on you. Gotta say I like the Euro bootlid after the Jap one Do I see another Titansilber Metallic E39 here:- Got phone I see so bluetooth upgrade is easy Also, nav retrofit a little easier than in the 330i A few days & when you have this reverse camera I have here fitted - you'll be able to see going backwards too Fitting will be a breeze after the 330i nav retrofit effort
  15. + 1 to what Glenn said. No point in replacing without first confirming the fault. Also, Ian's $300 about right for remove/check/service/seal replacement/refit for 8 lungs

    Back to BMW

To my knowledge 523i is Euro spec, 525i is the equivelent Jap spec car - mine also pre F/L Jap 525i - a 99 car
  17. Don't know that you can without an acc with them
  18. Number plate light? There are two:- Both working? Otherwise - maybe a bad earth in rear lights

Had some little S**ts do that to me recently. Must admit I slowed but then they cracked up & gave it away. Did amuse me though
