Deck cargo on a submarine don't you mean Mitsi/ Lada thing - don't know on that one. Certainly not same electrics - Mitsi's work Might add - before oil problem was diagnosed - this same car had also had electrics issues too- cutting out - ign module from memory
-
Yep - them & Belarus tractors. Bum deal we got. Gave them quality product & look what we got in return
-
Had a customer quite a few years ago, traded his then late 70's Mitsi Galant in for a brand new Lada Sonata (or whatever they were called). Thing kept using oil, went back to the agents several times for this complaint. They finally pulled the engine apart & discovered - different size pistons He had traded a perfectly good car in order to get a brand new POS. Needless to say - he wasn't happy after that - surprise surprise
-
Good point - forgot about that one. You do lose the CD changer though -if it matters
-
Has the car got TV? If so - yes - can be connected via AV inputs in video module - as per Nino car. Without video module - don't think it's possible

Drooling!!!!! Love it Was a thread on here a while ago discussing these. I had one but it was the kid sister to this one - Non Turbo version but still a great car. Always have a soft spot for these cars.

Hamish, mailing you.

Pull the plugs out & check. If wet - dry or replace. When they flood - cranking while not firing will just compound the problem - fuel still delivering but not burning. Sometimes will not start without removing plugs. Have seen this a zillion times If flooded - could be a fuel pressure regulator or ECU temp sender issue. Re not running on No 5 - have you compression tested? Have you confirmed good spark at plug? Is the injector working?
-
May have missed something somewhere but was the transmission working before engine change?
-
WTF Not disagreeing with your statement but:- He didn't say that anything else wouldn't go & he had only changed the engine - not pulled all electrics apart. Symptom discribed suggested to me one of the possible faults I outined in first post. And yes - sometimes I do know what I am on about - have been in the game for a long time to have learnt.
-
Can't run the starter unattached to engine - how does it earth? Unless you run a jumper lead from starter body to engine. This assuming the engine earth was hooked up in the first place of course
-
Looking like a thorough job being done there, progressing well, good on you
-
All M20 starters interchange - manual/auto are the same. Early (big) & late (small reduction type) interchange freely. I have never had an issue with aligning flex plate & can't really see how you should. Having said that - maybe it is misalighned somehow. May be a starter fault (if you have two & one is unknown) May be an connection fault - have you connected the engine - chassis earth? Have you got good battery voltage/have you tried another battery or jumper leads from a known good one? Have you got good voltage at starter? Won't be transmission wiring related. If all above are good - need to remove the starter to check clearances etc
-
Temp sensor readings - as I stated. If you read my second post - all the figures compute thereabouts. It is entirely dependent on engine temperature at a specific time. Again -As long as it comes down to around those hot readings - it is recognising a hot engine
-
Looks nice enough car. Might get a little cheaper than that. New radiator etc - may want to be wary of it having been overheated. How long has the guy had it?
-
Yep, great news & good on them for that. You say E46's up to 01 - did they sort the problem on post 01 cars?
-
I said ish. You will find when stone cold resistance will be high 2k's. At normal operating temp will be around 250ohms Your figures will be correct - 100C is higher than normal operating temp - hense lower reading Also cold engine is below 30C - again - reason fo higher reading. As long as the unit is coming down to a low reading - this won't be the problem
-
Resitance values - approx: 3ish k ohms at cold, 250ish ohms at operating temp. Blue two terminal temp sender. Single terminal sender is for gauge
-
Would settle with either but I reacon the RUF on its exclusivity
-
^^^^^^ Definitely not! You were lucky to get it out in one piece, besides - you will munt the threads in the head that secure the hook
-
Or single hex & double hex
-
Yep, shuttles are the same.
-
Hi, PM me with the last 7 digit chassis code & I will confirm build date - this determines what tuner is fitted. If world tuner - I can then give you the sequence for programming your radio

Whats with the BMW wreckers yard in the background Dave?

Gotta love the trouble he's taken to photograph the lighting on it
