Nice. Will be even better in 4 or 5 years time for $50k!
-
Ouch!!! WTF the happened? You guys all OK?
-
Fair comment. If you can get the $7-8k go for it. If it doesn't work out, why not take the $1 reserve risk for your E39 (and hope for somewhere between $12-$15k) and buy something cheap that you really like? E32's are peanuts these days!

This is my brothers car. He's selling as he is heading overseas. A great wee car which really does run on the smell of an oily rag. $1 reserve TradeMe listing. The poor b*stard had to relist it as the winner of the last auction simply decided he didn't want it. Rather annoying when he is trying to sort out his trip overseas!
-
I see... So you are wanting to do a swap + cash. These sort of deals are always hard to do. Do you have any idea of how much cash he is willing to part with? If you are swapping simply to relist his car, you need to ask yourself if it is worthwhile. Say he swaps cars and gives you $5k, you need to relist the 328i, try to sell it and negotiate. At the end of the day someone might grind you down to $10-$11k......... Surely it would be easier (if you are really wanting to sell the E39) to drop the price to $15-$16k? Just my two cents!

I have driven one (years ago). What a slug! Mind you, it does look very tidy. A good alternative to an E30 as a cheap daily driver?
-
I think that car is $10k tops. Remember it is a 95. IMHO $12k is tops for an E36 - for that you would be expecting a 97/98 NZ new one with low kms. $15k is E46 territory. Before people tell me I'm being too harsh - I own a similar car to the one listed (albeit an import auto). BTW - Why are you looking at this Martyn? I thought you hated E36's?
-
Sweepstake for guessing what it ends up selling for?
-
Looks nice and straight. Paint the front bumper and it would be mint. The wheels suit it too. Are they Alpinas?
-
$20k??? It has still done 150 odd kms - the engine may be new but everything else has done 150km. I also doubt they would have fitted a brand new engine. I wouldn't go over $15k for the one you have listed. Check out this NZ new manual example for around the $15k mark - IMHO a much better option.

The 328i you have listed doesn't look particularly exciting. If you look harder, you will find several nice M-kitted examples on TradeMe for not much more cash. This one (TradeMe link) is owned by a member on here and looks like a nice example. Auto / manual is personal preference really. I'd love a manual for the occassional weekend thrash, but find my 328i auto to be an excellent allrounder - easy around town and enough fun in the weekend.

I love them! The only E30 variant I would buy. There was a mint 89 325i auto cab at a Turners classic auction last year. It was white with black leather and had full service history. It had only done about 120k and sold for around $6,000

88 325i manual coming up at Turners for $1,200 - $1,800 No pics yet, so am not sure if it is a FL. Link
-
Looks nicely cared for. Maybe a bit dear, but these are very cool cars. A nice old cruiser. Turners link.

What sort of $$$ are we looking at?
-
There certainly aren't many around. How much do you want to spend? M5's are coming down in price. I've driven a manual 528i and was underwhelmed. I'd much rather have the auto in any E39 (except obviously an M5) as it suits the car much more.

As the title suggests, I'm after a radar detector. In the past I had a Bel RX65 which I found to be very good. Sadly, it was stolen. I never got around to replacing it. Now I'm thinking that I wouldn't mind the "protection" a radar offers. Let me know if you have anything you are wanting to sell.

Have you driven one? They aren't very exciting. An E36 M3 will get you much more excited!

The other day I was thinking about how it has been so long since there was discussion on this forum about the M325i. When I first joined Bimmersport, there was a new thread about them in some way shape or form just about every week. A quick check of TradeMe also only shows one currently for sale. It seems that no one is really that interested in them anymore, why is this? Also there are so few for sale. Have people come to their senses and realised that $15K for a 20year old car with not much pedigree is too much? Or are there very few purists left on Bimmersport and we now have a different type of membership that is more interested in "modding" standard cars? Or is just that people just moved onto different things?

Happy Birthday to the Don of Bimmersport!

I thought the sole reason of these stickers was to get chicks to text you! Cheers for the advice. Your car looks mint on TM

Is there much of a price difference between a 323i and a 328i?
-
As above, I don't need to sell it - hence, I don't want to give it away.
-
Yes, I searched for his old posting but couldn't find it.

I'm thinking of taking the plunge and going to Top Gear, but don't want the A Reserve (crap) seats. Will look at any show except Saturday night - the Mrs would never forgive me if I cancelled the Valentines day dinner. BTW, did anyone go tonight? Your thoughts / review?
