not alot really sorry, once exams are over and I'm back in welly with proper tools etc and time it will be all go. Just not enough time with uni and work to get it all sorted, but... Car is all running again with semi-rebuilt head, MLS gasket and studs. Only niggle is an exhaust leak taht wont go away, just gonna get the manifold milled as it would have warped ever so slightly during final welding. MS is all built and ready to go in when I get home, what I want to do isn't so plug'n'play as I had hoped. I didn't realise just how basic the L-jet is, its almost a waste of time using the stock harness it has that few inputs and outputs. Also now running turbo from VG30 as I blew the oil seals in the old one and it was pretty shagged (can't complain about free sh*t!) seeing +ve pressure about 2500rpm now in 3rd, has a nicer wastegate setup too. (still internal tho ) If that all goes to plan I might look at a 2L build, I've got the block sitting in the shed but I've got a few trips planned over summer so might have to wait till next year for that.

I really hate to see organisers of things like that held accountable as eventually noone will want to do it, its already pretty bad as it is. That said the design of the track was just asking for trouble, law suit is probably fair enough based on that.

^yip, pretty underrated next to the 1uz from what I've heard. Only problem is finding a suitable manual box for them. As for BMW V8, if your going to the time/cost/trouble of swapping the thing in I don't see why you'd use anything but the 4.0L
-
just curious but why would you not want it to run off manifold pressure?

couple of things, broke my glovebox, more specifically latch wont open. any trick to getting these things off before i get pissed off with it and break something? also, my bonnet release lives in the glovebox. Can someone PM how to open the thing using the latch from outside? pretty sure i've done it before but not having any luck with it now. cheers guys

f**kin awesome, reminds of a bike race between edwards and bayliss I think, in the space of 3 laps the lead must have swapped atleast 5 times.

Part no's for the actual caliper with the pistons are the same for Z1 and E32, but the carrier/bracket that the caliper slides on is different. Maybe the E32 carrier could be adapted easily enough? PM'd ya too.
-
the Z1 rear are 280x10, other option is 325iX tourings which are 258mm but ventilated, need to change a few other bits to make the iX stuff work though. e30.de has all the info here ya go: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...Flanguage_tools also, e30 M3 calipers are the same as E32 735 or 730 but the carriers are E30 M3 specific.

I went 60 in the front and they are still captive, 40mm drop rear and its a bit borderline. 60/40 is a pretty sweet stance tho, 60/60 had the back way too low.

^ yip, got both from uni the other night. Polar special is sweet. And the sound of those cars in the tunnel was amazing
-
was the clutch behaving normally before it failed? How old are the pressure plate and slave cylinder?
-
Both, i'd go for the kit option though. Easy enough to built and makes modifying it to suit your own setup much easier.

Also in... A body was found floating in the harbour yesterday. The man was wearing an All Black jersey, pink panties, fishnet stockings and had a sex toy in his rectum. Police removed the All Black jersey before notifying the family to save them from any unnecessary embarrasment.

Dam, now I got to put up with flatmates moping around the house all depressed. sh*t happens guys Ford, Ford, Ford is all I'll say.
-
right, thats it. I'm off to find 'tec1 kit and some pinstripes. sweet car, i'd just ditch the monsoon shields
-
Sssshhhhhh! I need those M10's
-
so the 17x8 on the front will clear the struts at ET25? do you think they would clear with the larger 51mm struts? car looks sweet
-
I thought it was the opposite, ie the RB's will burnout the coils if they use regular plugs?
-
not really a fan of the TG mag, its main selling point seems to be the presenters off the show, rather than its content. My 2c

Just found out that Colin McRae died last night. http://timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/more_sp...icle2461339.ece sympathies to the family

I really can't see how it will change. horsepower is torque x rpm. as you know changing a diff will change torque to the wheels, but will also change rpm accordingly and should result in the same power, The same should also be true for the torque if you run in a 1:1 gear and account for the diff ratio each time.
-
Is this true for most loctite stuff? what sort of temps we talking here? Also, how much difference between using stud locker (262) or just the normal nut locker (213?) in terms of strength? ie is it a no-no to use one instead of the other?
-
sweet I'd give that ago on my busted turbo but they have ceramic wheels, anybody know of a good ceramic glue? actually had mine all running again with new gasket and semi-recond head only to f**k up the breathers and wreck the oil seals on the turbo. will be N/A till new turbo found. sh*t happens.
