  1. That blue just sets it off pleasing to the eye good luck with it John may it bring many happy motoring hrs .On a personal note two things that funny chrome thing sticking out the rear plus what it is attached to delete. Second I know they are m sport wheel they just seem to detract from the aesthetic look of the car.
  2. Hope the break is R&R and some were warm any how best of luck. If i can help just let me know and I will see If I have any info or pic's for you.
  3. You mentioned that you were going to remove the rear bumper to look at some PDC sensors.Since you have found this upps it is easier i think to remove all six nuts in your case five undo the necessary clips etc holding it to the side. Then remove the bumper impact plate and bumper shocks all in one. Just remember to disconnect the PDC loom as well. The missing nut was attached to a stud which passes through a flange on the rear shock absorber so could easly be replaced with a similar size bolt and just welded back on. A pic of mine when i had it off replacing the standard bumper to a M sport one. Might give an idea of what things will look like hope it is of some help.
  4. Do a google search should give you a feel for what others have to say about them also found this if interested https://www.autotrader.co.nz/used-cars-for-sale/bmw-z4-auckland best of luck
  5. It's six /seven odd years since i owned the 530 so forgive me if the details are sketch. Water runs off the roof down the sides of the rear screen, the rubber trim seal and seal for the windscreen needs to be good. It is then directed to the boot drain channel along this then down over the rear tail lights. Some were near the boot hinges is a body join which has sealant in it. These I have seen cracked and over time has aloud water to entry. Re the boot seal rubber just a wild idea the rubber maybe good but is the boot lid coming into contact with it and compressing it enough to provide a seal. Any how best of luck with your torch search and see what it turns up. These things are trying and a pain in the butt may the light shine on yours
  6. Would be looking at what is involved to strip your damaged door barrel then using the locator pins in it for your key and placing them in the barrel from the parts car. Other wise it starts to get very involved changing locks, ignition keys, EWS units to mat with the new keys also does the remote locking still work if fitted.
  7. Gabriel the torch in the boot search sounds like a good idea. Hope the leak shows up quickly but be patient it might take a while for the water to filter through to where you can see it. Unsure of the situation of your vehicle is it garaged, parked on the street up hill ,down dale or flat under a car port etc?. As reading your last post sounds like it is out side if so that changes what needs to be investigated i feel. Rear windscreen sealing trim rubber Rear screen seal too body boot seal rubber/ lip that it is pressed over body seam join by boot hinge. Blocked or obstructed drainage channels.
  8. Have you checked the fitment of your plastic rear wheel linear and mudflap.thing e. As water would have to be driven to get to the position you have shown and the only way that happens is if it is thrown off the tyre as it spins. Also their must be a split or crack in the body seems to allow it to enter. Around the fuel filler neck is another place i can remember seeing water after washing the car although i don't think it enters the boot at all
  9. That leak doesn't stand a chance under this scrutiny

  11. Just a thought while in their check the condition of the flaps in the vent these fall apart and you have one big hole. The parts cat calls it a breathe cover rear 64228377280. Looking at your photos could be hidden behind that plastic piece. In the link the fourth photo shows the vent I'm talking about. https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi2p7T8y7TWAhUBQ5QKHe8JAMAQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bimmerfest.com%2Fforums%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D569363&psig=AFQjCNHZFbSfNwXxoxrgyDG__3f1oO2K1g&ust=1506025404797425
  12. Believe that hose is to vent the fumes created by the chemical reaction in the battery to the outside atmosphere. Check to see if the grommet it passes through is still fitted properly.

Also are the rear indicators just a little smoked or is it the angle the photo was taken?. Price is that about what these sell for these days in digging found it was rego in Japan June 2007 , Nz 7th July 2014 assembled June 2006 if relevant.
  16. Good on you for finding a solution to the problem. Only my opinion shame on the firm concerned surely they know their own product range isn't that what a dealer ship is all about and then to say it will cost $1600 for a new mirror. Urrr
  17. Well that shows how much that dealer ship know. Did they charge you anything for that in put?

  20. C Could be wrong but swapping radios with a mess like this to deal with must really rock your boat .If it is only to plug a devise to play extra music from surely an adapter in the cig lighter could do the trick.
  21. Bummer about the tyre given any thought to swapping the run flats for conventional tyres' This any help seems to be a number of firms that can do it at a cost. https://www.google.co.nz/search?source=hp&q=e90+japanese+navigation+convert+to+nz&oq=e90+japanese+navigation+convert+to+nz&gs_l=psy-ab.3...5171.60209.0.62034.64.57.6.0.0.0.364.11277.2-35j5.41.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..19.29.6563.0..0j0i131k1j0i131i46k1j46i131k1j0i22i30k1j33i160k1j33i21k1.239.8zVdpCHLClA
