  1. Have you had a play with this site http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp lets you mess with the rim size, off set and tyre size then gives you weather it is a safe set up or not

    Airbag recalls

No matter what the case maybe with this it is one big Forking mess. To have any out come will take time and patience on all fronts despite the alarming safety issues raised. So my understanding of this correct me if wrong dealing with only BMW owners first off a recall of passenger air bags was issued and the various models identified and letters sent to owners. Due to a supply short age this took some time to gain momentum but did proceed the faulty bags were replaced at no charge and the owner went on their merry way as some members have stated. Only that was not the end of it it now appears that their is another recall this time for the air bag in the steering wheel and possibly other units to be replaced on certain models and only on vehicles NZ new at the time according to BMWNZ is this correct. So by contacting a dealer or BMWNZ will one get a conformation that your vehicle is involved or not in this latest development.???

What make and model please for a e39 http://www.lcm-repairs.co.uk/page1.html
  6. Tell your friend to read the reviews on these for the year mentioned they don't make good reading. The 3.0ltr and diesel ones appear to be the better option that said the reviews are not that good yet again. Some even go as far to say a RAV 4 or x trail may be a better option and value for money in any case tell your mate to do his research and not be blinded by the badge.

    e46 v8 wagon

Given any thought to using a dry sump system and get the motor lower although the cost of it could negate that.

    e46 v8 wagon

Have you given any thought about the diameter of the fuel lines both to and from the tank plus the pipe for fumes returning to the carbon canister..
  11. Hi Peter and welcome to the forum their is a whole heap of knowledge available here so no doubt you will get answers to any problems you may have. The slush box In short dump it and for fill your wish of a manual. In saying that do some research on the cost of both the conversion to manual against overhauling the auto plus the cost of a second hand replacement unit. Best of luck with what ever you decide.
  12. Would depend on how you define not so expensive. Will depend on which system it has think they are ccc or cci one is not so go the other better I believe.Others on here are more knowledge able with details and will no doubt chime in later or try Joe Euro Surgeon he has a web sit so a google search could help you out

  14. Hi have a look here should clear it up for you no pun intended https://www.google.co.nz/search?site=&source=hp&q=nzta+tinted+rear+tail+lights&oq=nzta+tinted+rear+tail+lights&gs_l=psy-ab.3...7914.25231.0.25567.29.28.0.0.0.0.433.5321.2-23j0j1.24.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..5.20.4482.0..0j0i131k1j0i22i30k1j33i21k1j33i160k1.zjAeqeXlpgQ http://www.aa.co.nz/cars/ask-an-expert/legal-advice/show/168/
  15. Had a look a video about this changing a key fob battery also the point of how is the battery recharged came up. Could some explain how this is done in simple terms.
  16. Have a BMW scanner 1.4 also as Gabriel mentioned find it very useful. The only trouble i find is you have to run it through a laptop and it gets messy sometimes with cables running every where. Also these do have problems which are documented google search will enlighten one.
  17. Hi, first what type of keys do you have and how old are they?. Has this happened suddenly or been their for a while and gotten worse until it finally stopped working all together. If they are the key type which has three buttons unlock doors top one, lock doors centre one, unlock boot bottom one or sometimes called diamond shape. These have a battery in side them and over time the battery goes flat and all the remote stuff stops working. Do a google search and it will show you how to replace the batteries. Awaiting some from the UK at present so I can change mine over.It is easier if the replacements have the terminals already attached to them.

  19. Is the vehicle an import? as have had similar problem turned out that the hoses from the heater core had been blocked off with two solid pieces of aluminum bar just were they enter the heater core itself. Took me ages to track it down and a real pain in the butt to pull out. Although once removed presto heat from the heater all fixed or so i thought. If this turns out to be the problem just keep an eye on the carpets as the core could fail still not having coolant running through it for a length of time
  20. Can't help you with your problem but welcome to the age of technology. gone mad. From around 2005 any BMW required you to have a scanning tool and a handle on how to use it and understand what it is telling you.ie checking the oil level.as their is no dip stick any more. Just had a quick look on google https://www.google.co.nz/#q=e60+unwanted+traffic+warning+messages

    Roof Racks

This turned up from Pelican the other day thought it might be of interest to those wanting to put some ornaments on the roof. http://www.pelicanparts.com/promos/1RoofRacks7262017/BMW/?utm_source=Pelican+Pit+Stop+Newsletter&utm_campaign=77c18f9c92-BMW_RoofRacks_7-26-2017&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_e247719183-77c18f9c92-68402337
  22. Yes given that both these boys have the toys a population adjustment could happen. Only trouble is if it's nuclear then the fall out literally could be far worse. Other factions present in the world are just as dangerous I feel as these two clowns but not so widely presented that in it's self is the problem. Their lies the problem doesn't matter whether you are white black brown yellow pink with purple spots this complex environment called Earth can only support so much. Mankind as a whole needs to look very hard at what he has done and is doing for in the last 150 yrs he has done more damage than mother nature had in the last 5 million . Even with the rapid changes in technology the author mentions does it even come close to helping change or slowing down the damage done.
  23. Interesting in deed the only constant in life I have found is change and it comes in many forms as shown in the article. Unless i missed it the only thing it did not touch on was. Humans and how we are eating up the resources of this planet plus reproducing at an alarming rate placing even more pressure on this planets limited resources.
  24. Check the condition of the "o" rings on the stick informed these deform, expand and go hard one or all three can happen over time and become a right pain.
