According to this: http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx You'd need to use 100psi to get a 360cc injector to flow 550cc, so I doubt it!
-
I'd also add that upgrading the brakes the skyline way is an expensive exercise: - set of calipers (relatively cheap) - new front and rear rotors (not cheap) - getting the handbrake to work is a trick too (there are E36/46 vented rotors which work) - new pads (not cheap) - alloy adapters so calipers mount to E30 (not cheap) - new wheels (probably) - some larger m/c - eg 15/16" or 1" (23.84mm or 25.4mm) - cert. The calipers are just a very minor down payment in the cost.

E30s are crap for putting big brakes on - the offset on the rotor is terrible (the most you can fit is about 40mm before hitting the tie rod end). You then need monster x-factor to clear skyline calipers. A Skyline comes with 54mm offset rotors, so to get the wheel the same distance from the disk face needs a 15mm spacer. About the best you'll find is Honda S2000 300mm x 25mm, with a 40mm rotor offset. They come in 4x100* * once redrilled, LOL. Note the Skyline rotor is also only 280mm, which is one of the reasons it fits more easily under a 15" wheel. JiB has the aforementioned S2000 rotors, Skyline brakes narrowed up for a 25mm rotor (not 30mm like Skyline), and 20mm adaptors (4x100-114) and he had to try about 4 different sets of 15s before he found some that fit. If you want an idea of how hard it is, print the Massive Brakes clearance template and check: http://www.massivebrakes.com/kits/e30/front/300/21/318-325 FWIW, the Advanti E30 race series wheels DCH sell meet the definition of "monster x-factor".

Depends. A lot. How much rust, how much missing. How knackered are the (non-engine) mechanicals.
-
You don't get charged GST by customs on anything worth less than $400 (incl shipping), but I reckon you are better to support local suppliers once the price gets close.
-
Was great to meet you too - but a stink end (barely a beginning - 2 from 5 runs ) to the day for your mate.
-
Thanks for putting up the vid. For those who watch, JiB and I disappear coz we went left to the front straight to the finish and the evil chicane at the top of the hill (nowhere to brake in a straight line). There's a chance we would have been caught as 2002 was about possibly 1-2 secs a lap quicker (based on his fastest time). Craig - I notice you were braver than us in certain key strategic areas (eg onto pit road). And much quicker through the chicane's. Carol's car is an Integra type R engine right - like 200hp. In a featherweight CRX that's gotta be quick.

Yeah I dunno. Its a tough one. Unless someone is really likes your particular car it is very much a buyers market. I think its great - silver, cloth, well looked after and low km all do it for me. It's worth more than those bids though, in my opinion (cause of km and NZ new). So I agree, hang in there.

I AM ALIVE! I had a great day - thanks heaps. Was a really, really good day out. The 325i goes well, sounds mint (despite bog standardness and 320k km), lots of nice people here, good weather. Handling felt great from the passenger seat. I was hardly scared at all, LOL. A highlight of the day was the hilariously rapid 700hp Skyline GTR - it accelerated in third like it was being shot from a cannon. It also twitched sideways while doing it. In other news, Pirongia is less than 2 hours. Do it! You won't find many hill climb's much closer. And I've only ever seen zip ties used to hold harnesses on the rear bar.

Well, Heath came around today and we rigged up my crappy Autogauge tach and it seems the little pug rocket is limiting itself bang on 7,200rpm. Basically, China tach > French tach, LOL. Its still pulling hard when it hits the limiter too - hardly any tailing off of power at all!
-
They are from a Daihatsu Charade de Tomaso. I had a set in my old civic. They are pretty comfortable, but the fabrics not **that** durable (ie you have to treat them nice). They are a pretty standard Recaro basically - I am pretty sure they need recaro rails and a recaro rails to e30 adapter you can buy them - $$$ (ie, they don't just bolt in). Alternative is to get e30 rails modified to fit these (Recaro seats have a simple mounting system - 4 bolts in the corner of the seat).

White face, built in shift light AND external shift light. Minimum 10hp.
-
And if everything goes to plan you should get 400hp+ at that boost level
-
Is it one or a pair? I assume its for twin carbs (Weber / Dellorto / Solex / etc)?
-
I'll PM you my mobile # - if you come around tomorrow, I have a test kit thing I bought once which has a tach mode (you connect it to the plug leads). Won't take long. What I'll lend to JiB is a crappy Autogauge tach - I am going out to Puke with him on Sunday for car club sprints, and I might try hook it up there if we have time.
-
Awesome! Thanks for the pics. Is that a window on the intake manifold? Luke - I don't think you'll get to 400rwhp on such low boost as your car doesn't make as much power unboosted.
-
Hmmm, I might be able to help with that between runs on Sunday. I has nasty aftermarket tach with shift light.
-
On a standard cam, I'd say they'd do bugger all other than sound AWESOME. Any gain may well be offset by less torque lower down. By Steve? The GTR the TBs came from? Sock filters for each trumpet? http://www.pipercross.net/competition/products_socks.asp
-
Stink. Hopefully you get it sorted.
-
I think these are made by user name "crunchy" (Motorsport Engineering). Mint. If I had a spare $800 (and an M20) I would so be into them: http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=230651744
-
Even if he bumps the fuel pressure they will potentially run out of puff by say 400hp. While that's heaps ... an M50 with that turbo can do more and it would be rude not to.
-
Hmmmm. He said: I'm not sure that means he cut the firewall?
-
Is the firewall actually modified? It doesn't look it (I know it potentially implied it on a previous post).
-
I understand Elring are good, but are you sure you can get a headgasket safely shipped to NZ?
