  2. Dyno Dynamics measures the lowest / is most conservative? Same dyno gave 102hp atw for my very healthy, low mileage factory replacement engine 2 litre M10 (factory output supposedly 130hp at the crank).
  3. Is wikipedia right? Glenn - are you sure you aren't thinking of the V6, which has the big cambelt service bill? (edit) Whoops way too slow on that one.
  4. I think I might have read of it being 330i brakes - try googling that. I'm not sure you actually **need** to do it though.
  5. Yeah he's the man. Its interesting - the 2002, which is basically a 4 cylinder equivalent (same rockers, for instance), made almost exactly the same hp per litre at the same rpm ... and same torque curve (flat).

  7. I have bought individual M10 ones from forum sponsor Gavin at EuroItalian for about $4-5 each. Not sure if individuals are available for the M20, or what the cost is for the heat shield version.
  8. I have Toyo T1R on the M3 in that size (on the front), and they weren't that expensive (less than $500 a pair), and they seem fine. I don't personally think I can tell the difference between performance tyres (I can tell the difference between good and crap though).
  9. Why? Why should the forum provide a place for people to discuss modifications that can be made legal and are therefore pointless? Your car either spun out because you can't drive or your car handles like crap (most likely due to it being too low, having heavy wheels, or having crap tyres, etc). It's a difficult decision for you, but you will have to pick from one of those two options. It might surprise you, but the authorities aren't just being d1cks by saying you can't run your car extra low, or with tints to dark it makes it hard to see out at night, etc. They are trying to save you from yourself.

  12. How the hell did you end up hitting the side of the straight offramp (for those not clear on where it is - Market Rd, heading North) - someone must have cut you off? I really hope everyone is ok.
  13. Conversion components has one for the M10 so maybe works on M30? I'd buy one for an M20/M50, and I am sure others would consider it, especially M50.

  15. You should put up a price too. There are plenty of people overseas rocking pretty decent power through those gearboxes, but I am all in favour of over-engineering so going Tremec is fine with me At least you KNOW you won't break it.

  17. Is that wastegate just venting in the engine bay? haha. Not judging - I realise its work in progress. Its just awesomely rangi if you've been running around like that. Is it running properly yet (I remember the other thread)?
  18. The manual one has some nice mods that I'd pay up for a little, but the price is definitely up there for a 325i.

  21. Have a dig through www.bmwfans.info and compare part #. Isn't the 540i a 6 speed? The ratios will likely be different if yes (as the 6spd Getrag has different gears to the 5spd ZF in an E36).
