  1. Yup that's what I want. However I think they pay a little more at the moment. Need to confirm this. I have a feeling it is just easier for the NZTA to control it this way. (This means it will NEVER change if true, NZTA has very outdated processes and systems). Though the little NZ company I work for Eroad has just convinced the local government in the State of Oregon to set up a tax system the way it should be. Tax at the pump. Trucks require an extra label as they already do. In this case there will be a Eroad GPS RUC unit installed.
  2. Now that I am a diesel owner and work in the RUC industry I want to get behind having RUC dropped or significantly reduced for light vehicles. A light vehicle is considered anything under 3.5tons. RUC was designed for heavy vehicles. Vehicles of which do extra damage to the roads. So your 318D's are being taxed for damage to the roads just because they run a more efficient fuel type which is not as heavily taxed at the pump as petrol. So would you be happy paying a little more at the pump but nothing in RUC charges? I feel that a motor vehicle under 3.5 tons that is registered as Private vehicle and not used as a trade vehicle should not be subject to RUC. Whats your thoughts fellow diesel owners. 4WD's, Utes, Cars. Is there any current action against this?
  3. It is exactly what he said. All the time wasters just didn't want to commit to travelling that far. And to be honest if I didn't have contacts in Greymouth I would not have bothered. But it is a superior car in every way to the heap of junk touring I viewed just down the road from my house for less money. Looking forward to my drive back to Auckland. Wonder how far that first tank will take me. With a bit of testing involved.
  4. Yup thats the guy. Lucky I have a very good customer of mine based in Greymounth and Jarred went to school with his kids. Made it easier to get it checked. Car has only had two owners. First one was a very well known real estate agent who has looked after the car like it was his kid. Most servicing done by BMW Chch. Car is in mint condition. He had a heap of time wasters. So was hard to even get a hold of him.
  5. Haha nice plate on that first one.
  6. It seems cheap. Then you see it. It would be a risky buy at $12k. With the lack of maintenance on that Estate I would be very worried.
  7. Haha. Will see how the tidy up goes. Bet I will convince myself to keep it. Then comes the hard part. Can I convince the Mrs. In the mean time I will be driving a Daihatsu Rocky while she drives the E60.
  8. Yeah was a bit of a process. Gets dropped off to Christchurch this weekend. Flying down the following to bring it to Auckland.
  9. I was still really surprised how bad that car was. But I am glad it was crap as the one I settled on (one this thread was created for) turned out even better than I thought.
  10. Was it the silver wagon? Heap of crap. http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/47986-well-priced-530d/page-3 Read my post. The sedan is gone now but still listed on TM. Old owner just hasn't taken down the ad yet. Trust me I know
  11. Hating on those badges and headlights. More than I feel I should.

    Nisssan Workshop

Soichi is a Nissan Tuning God in general. Highly recommended. Especially if you want more power.
  13. If they were a staggered 8 and 9 set I was going to pay up to $1200 for them I have them on my E34 race car. Zac also runs them on his 635 race car. But 9's are what we are after.
  14. I was about to say you should ask the guy who won this Auction. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=697547444 But you won that auction. Haha. Have a check around Bimmerforums. There was a pair for sale for pretty cheap a month or so ago.

Beautiful car. Better be a bloody good Super Beetle you are replacing it with. You better keep the buyers contact details for when you decide you want the E9 back.
  16. From the PM's there are a few people after one. Some kid stopped me in the car park at Albany mall the other day to see if I would sell it.

Yup everyone seems to be giving them sh*t for claiming ALL MURICAN!. Stretched Lotus chassis. Is a pretty big feat. But yeah not a production car but a kit car. And not all American.
  18. I was planning to keep my M325i for a while. But things change and I want something that can tow the race car. So it will be for sale in a few months all ready for the next Bimmersport owner to love.
  19. Would be a steal for anything under 25K. Most others I have looked at for sale have double those KM's and are around 25-30K
  20. Missed this post. But just going back to towing with E39's. Have towed my race car all over the north island many times. 97 E39 540i with factory tow bar towing a single axle braked trailer. Plenty of power. But as said by Milan. Trans will overheat. Especially in traffic. Mine pretty much boiled when stuck in traffic on the motorway. Had to replace the fluid. If you are towing with a single axle you must get the balance of the tow bar right. About 70-90kgs on the tongue. Any more and the car will drag its ass and flog out all the rear bushes pretty quickly. Twin axle trailers are best of course. Where the tow bar mounts in the chassis rails of the E39 you may find it starts to stretch the metal around the bolts. This can get quite bad if towing heavy hire trailers with your car on the back.
  21. I see GT Refinishes are advertising they will polish and seal your lights now. Not all that expensive if you don't want to attempt it yourself. https://www.facebook.com/Gtref Their example is a E39 headlight. They offer just polishing or sealing too.
  22. Is the sort of guy who will run up the ass of a late model Euro at the lights. The late model euro owners insurance company will then destroy his life. If he is young enough they will go after the parents money/assets.
  23. $3000 on a new clutch. Made of diamonds. Rare. Nope. Trying to pull a swifty on the Buses insurance. They will see right through it and give him what its worth. About $4K max.

    Mobile phone advice

Mrs has a 5C for work. She hates it. But due to its poor ability to integrate with her secure work place systems (Navy). As a facebook viewer and selfie taker it seems to be great. It is a nice shade of YOLO YELLOW!@*(. Very appropriate when you are dealing with VIP's.
  25. I have been looking at E90's recently also. I have found most NZ New vehicles have very few options. Most are as close to the base model as you can get. I was after a diesel vehicle though.
