any idea why so may E46 M3's on trademe at the moment
Driftit replied to nzodea's topic in TradeMe discussions
Yeah I would much rather an E90 than an E92. While in Mission bay on the weekend a number of E92's went past. Followed by an E90 in Blue. Instantly wanted it. Looked so much more aggressive than the 92's. And what a awesome color. Strange really as I would say the opposite for all previous 3 series models. I also like the new M3 over the M4. Suites well as it has the correct badge. -

You're right. When I say cheap I meant around the 50K mark. Way outside what I would want to spend. I am yet to see anything even close to the $40K mark that I would want to own. -

I did dream about bring over an E90 M3 from the UK. They are so cheap. Wouldn't bother with an E46 M3 because of this. Though mostly because I just can't be stuffed with a coupe anymore. -
Pretty sure the NZ government was offered this by the Americans after WW2. They Declined for whatever reason. Would be more to it and I am interested to know the whole story if anyone knows. It takes too long to get improvements passed and built in this country. Are they being shortsighted? No. They don't want their budget to look bad. Cheapest option every time. Aucklands infrastructure is choking. Introduce a congestion charge for the CBD. Use ALL of this to improve roading infrastructure. Build a new harbor crossing now. Pay for this by Automated cheap to run Tolling system. Keep it there for as long as possible using funds to pay debt and improve other areas and maintenance. Have all motorway work done 24/7 until complete. E.g. One extra lane between Oteha Valley Road and Constellation Road on SH1 is meant to take 2 years! The traffic is beyond a joke until they finish. They don't work past 4pm. There doesn't seem to be many working on the project. Seen them on a Saturday maybe 3 or 4 times. Edit. Good luck getting money for broken car parts. If they don't just ignore you. They will tell you to claim on your insurance.

Come join the Turbo E34's in the BMW Race series. 600BHP should put a smile on your face.

The dolly usually works with the tractor unit automatically. But this looks like someone was manually controlling it. And they either failed to straighten it up after the corner. Or something failed and they had no control.

They can keep it all if the at cost parts is brought back I do remember about the trophies now though. Other stuff I had no idea about. -
Someone wasn't doing a good steering job with the dolly.

They did. But that was all thanks to Gerry Hodges I think. It was for sponsored parts. But that sadly stopped a while back. Have to buy aftermarket and from overseas now. BMW don't seem to take much notice of the largest race series by far in NZ and possibly the Southern Hemisphere. They may sponsor some behind the scenes things I am unaware of but most support seems to come from employees who work there and are apart of the series. Some of the dealers have offered some discounted parts. Trade prices. But there is no current models racing. So other than parts and brand love they may not get much out of the series other than a ton of exposure which they may not really need as there is already plenty. -

How about they invite some of their die hard BMW fans. People from the race series. That you know. Is for BMW's only. Spend thousands through them every year. Not really just a skid session though. -
Yeah he still has it. But to be honest I would not purchase an Import. And you want one that has been well looked after, has a service history and had all the big services already done. e.g. Brakes are $3K through Merc to replace. His one has all the options too. Seems odd that they would even come without PDC. They chose not to use the 7 speed in the E55 as the tourqe would give it issues. Also more strength for towing which suited us. Had nearly no issues with it. Just a sensor or two.

You should go for a drive in the E55 AMG Kompressor now. E63 was a cost saving thing. Supercharger was just too expensive and crazy expensive when it goes wrong. Funny that the new E63 AMG Twin Turbo once again uses the E55's engine. Could get the E63 a Partner. Didn't Boyce want one? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/mercedesbenz/auction-751130276.htm

Wonder if it is Shane Van Gisbergen. Shane97 and the user is also Shane.

No Jealous Arguments. I just wouldn't buy one. Based purely because I think it is too big. If I had that much disposable income I would be buying another Racecar. Fast road cars....no point imo.
-
Weight is not the issue for me. The size of the car is. I keep mistaking them for 5 series cars. If I wanted a big car I would get the 5 series. Which is now the size of a 7 series....hmmmm. BMW seems to be having trouble with this. Must be the guys designing the Mini's getting involved. Mini in German I think is Landcruiser.

Too big in my opinion. I park next to a 2013 3 series at work. It is only slightly smaller than my E60. It makes the E92 and E36's that park nearby look small. Parking my E30 next to it is a real laugh. Twice the damn size.

Here you go OP. You would fit in well with the people on this forum. http://broniesaustralia.com.au/forums.php

Reversing Camera, Extra mirrors. Has to have been someone with a neck injury as Leo said.

I should have grabbed those 8's and 9's. If anyone else sees some low offset 9's let me know. 17" only. Light as possible. BBS or BMW. So many skinny little biscuit wheels around.

A stolen and burnt out E39 huh. Must have left the keys somewhere....
