If it is a comfort access key, the battery can be replaced. -
Aren't all modern BMW engines just a collection of small parts that could break?
-
Surely you are tired of the 135i by now!
-
Im not having any Issues with misfires so not rushing to change them at the moment, have found some for reasonable prices but a kit of 8 leaves me a couple short!!
-
That's not bad... compared to my M5!
-
You want to borrow my plasma cutter and make an access hole? I think it can be a bit of a pain getting the window to line up so it seals again if you undo everything, but i did it in the e36 and it was better when i finished than when i started!
-
Tips for bodywork: 1) avoid 2) avoid 3) con someone else into doing it BTW I hate fixing rust, which is why I have 2 e21s.
-
if its anything like the e36 coupe it is a real ballache to get out, i had to unbolt the window glass from the mechanism to get enough room to wiggle the handle mechanism out, getting it back in is no easier!

My touring ended up in Taranaki, last seen about a year ago.

I don't believe there is a problem with the design or the materials, until some dimwit decides to re-use one they have broken the top off making it impossible to remove without severe damage. 80 % of the coils are still perfect after 11 years and 160000 km.
-
To their credit they did use 3 cable ties, so it wasn't going to fall off!
-
Yeah this wasnt heat damage, they had been snapped off, and one of the coil plugs was held in with cable ties! 8 of the 10 were perfectly fine. Coils are a bit pricey to change for the fun of it !
-
changed the plugs in the M5, someone in its past has removed the coils, broken the tops of 2 of them, and put them back in! Destroyed them both getting them out again, so off the road until i get 2 new coils. Photo of the worst plug...

just a quick shout out to the muppet that did this to my M5, whoever and wherever you are, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits! ?
