That`s the guy...amazing thread...small world -
Tom , a few months ago I got clipped in Merivale Mall carpark. When I came out. there was a guy standing by his car who told me that I`d been scraped by a chap in a `Big black Range Rover ` ( No surprises there...) However no Rego number so I had to wear it. Ashamed to say this, but I now park ( Ahem ) in the disabled carparks...they are always empty, and they are right up by the automatic doors. I always make sure that I limp a bit when I get out though...

Exactly ...you turn up with a trailer full of pound notes to buy it and ask the vendor to start it up. Vendor looks at you nervously and says.. `oi don`t know if i`d I`d like to risk that sir....` -

There was a thread on a UK BM blog about a guy who has an e30 m3 with delivery miles. About 50, he`s a car collector and wanted huge money for it. As a lot of posters said, what happens when you suddenly buy it, and put 10000 miles on it. I`m not a mechanic, but does the sudden movement put the damn thing into shock ? Flip side, the m3`s are going up in value...not so sure about an old 7er... -
M registration plate, NZ new ??

My first Bmw was an e30 , good unmolested ones really hold their value. So I sold mine to a mate for $7000 (325i)and he still has it 9 years later...I`d be surprised if it`s dropped $2000 in that time.

Correct..I presume you`re an E39 fan, and you`ve just unloaded one. A 530 as well. For heavens sake Leo.....

Incredible cars..however if you do a bit of googling they are quite a bit cheaper than that ex uk. Must be a Japan car, low k`s I guess...

That is effing funny................!

Looks great. Most of the E46s I've looked at have had a horrible smooth idle. Have you got videos you can send/post showing your rougher idle so I can compare? jeffbebe (446 ) 9:58 am, Tue 20 May Geez I almost lost my dinner when I read this...!

Yep...do it up so it owes you twice what you could buy an e30 for then stick it back on Trade me......ahem..

Nothing wrong with the K`s ...you`ll end up doing a Julian, turning the car into a masterpiece, then selling it to buy an 840

The button on the right at the bottom is the boot release..Speaking of keys, I have 4...Master key, a backup, a service key and a valet key. One is plastic. Didn`t mean I could open the boot for a week though.

As I understand it, the 924 (Audi) and the 914( VW ) almost destoyed Porsche`s credibilty. Then they came up with the 944. which at least, surprisingly, was a Porsche. Cue applause all round...

Dead right..in fact there was one from Nelson or Blenheim on trademe last year that had a `VW-PORSCHE` rear badge. I think they were marketed that way in Europe. They`re a popular car in the States, but onlywith the 6 cylinder engine. They are rare in this country I guess.....

Sometimes, on a Saturday. I`ll go for a drive up through North Canterbury and end up somewhere for a coffee. Then I come home. On occasions...I have exceeded 100 km`s an hour. Try ChCh - Oxford - Loburn- Ashley - Rangiora - ChCh. Home with a smile on the dial...

Stealth ken...stealth...and then...sneak up on people.

The vendor has spent an amazing amount of money on his car. That is to be respected. But then he decides to sell it, and that`s when `market forces` take over. I was in the car business years ago at a big franchise dealership, and it was always a sad moment when you had to price a trade in. Most people get a big shock. Do your house up instead.

And to further annoy any prospective buyers, try `proof of funds required before test driving`. So I guess you give him a photograph of a cheque you wrote out in the pub the night before....
