  1. You don`t have room in your garage Graham for a classic like this. Some other lucky punter will score it.
  2. A wee bit...I could be wrong about this...
  3. You wanna see what it`s done to my friggin garden... better than an earthquake i guess....
  4. The green 6 series is obviously a John Player Special. Probably an ex Jim Richards Bathurst car. Shame to see it parked on a lawn in Invercargill...
  5. The Kopua kid reckons one M badge equates to a 10 HP mod for some owners. Therefore that car will have the performance of an ME 262 and will be a danger anywhere near an airport...
  6. That`s it in a nutshell Jason. I was reluctant however to describe acceleration as throwing the 528 driver back in the seat. .
  7. I agree that it`s a matter of choice but this topic appears on other Bmw forums. It just seems to feel unnatural to me in factory setup. So I`ll give it a go, I`m not worried about the + and - , a later owner could change it back if they wanted to.
  8. My car has grey leather and I like the woodgrain. Different story with a black interior I think.
  9. I`ve googled this and it seems to be possible with just a quick wiring change. At the moment I push forward to change up and push back to change down. I think this may have been reversed as standard in later model e39`s.
  10. This just shows what a Bmw looks like years later when it`s been looked after. Hit the internet , read the horror stories about `older Bmw`s ` and realise it`s about the owners, not the cars. Bargains everywhere , see one you like ,just keep a wee bit up your sleeve for those `little niggles`, research the price when it was in the showroom all those years ago, and pounce on it.
  11. `Dig this car. And if I wasn't saving for an e39 m5 i'd be keen` Sam, you are so right. I`m in the same boat...might have a garage sale ( anyone need a second hand garage ?? )
  12. yup...them old swirl flap issues with the diesels...or the subframe issues with the E46`s...and don`t start about the front wheel shimmies on the E39. It`s a wonder any of our cars sell at all. Ho Ho...if you like it, buy it. And then enjoy it.
  13. Those guys at Thorpe Engineering could do a nice wee sideline in machining wheels to fit the E39..

    E36 328 manual coupe

There is no `wrong island` Graham..
  15. That`s big money, but you have to respect 50000 miles I guess ( UK Import ) But it`s the old story, if you love your Bmw`s and you`ve got a spare $38000 to spend on anything that takes your fancy, would you buy that ...? No...we`re talking a nice E39 M5 and $15000 left in the bank in case it blows up surely..???
  16. Yes mate, because you are our expert on Pommie cars. ( And that big V8 Merc a few posts ago...) However, would you shell out 6 grand for the Hillman Minx. Don`t forget, it`s been converted to floor change...
  17. If you go to the seller`s other listings, you can see the Hillman minx in the showroom. What`s beside it on the right..an Armstrong Siddley ? We may need Graham`s help on this one..
  18. Just looking at it. Gotta be an old farmer`s ride. What about the Hillman Minx for $5999 ? 60 year old boy racers` car. Bet the local cops have a thick file on it ..
  19. There`s more money than you think down those parts ( and further South ) Someting to do with Rain, Grass , and Sheep. However the locals tend to be quite restrained about showing it. You would NOT fit in down there driving that.
  20. Just taken a break from watching the cricket. That`s an awesome car..and I remember the 528 as well.
  21. Good stuff Charles..when you get there, don`t jump out of the car in a hurry. There`s a Rottweiler sitting out the front on a mat. He`s got those sleepy eyes... I doubt they have much in the way of bad debtors. Just joking, they`re good value alright. Glad to help out.
