Just brought a 2006 BMW 325i M-Sport iDrive Model
jonesrp replied to Rellik's topic in General Discussion
Very nice looking car but I endorse a previous posters thoughts on bird sh*t...just had mine done over today after a good clean. -
E30`s don`t have problems. They are getting on a bit,,,they have `quirks`, I wish I still had mine....

I`m confused. So this guy has transplanted full M5 running gear into a standard e39. I mean...why ? If I want a V8 in my car then I don`t try a transplant for obvious reasons. I just buy a 540.If he`s done this and got it certified it must have cost him an arm and a leg to do it. I mean, what does an e39 M5 engine cost on it`s own ? Or is this an M5 with a different body ( I don`t know how you guys can pick this up from the ad ??)

Very interesting,,any self respecting male over the age of 25 would ditch the plates, but otherwise , looks like a very good deal, Having previous experience of Turners, it`s a great place to buy, but , ahem, if you`re selling then they want your car out of the building asap.....
-
when did he last check the oil Allan....? he`s just bought it. I`d like to know what the previous owner was up to.This is really annoying .....
-
3rd party.....??
-
I only found that out when I joined the forum...it`s just that beemer sounds better. And that`s what everyone at work calls mine. I don`t correct them..
-
God....those wheels...
-
I see the warrant`s expired as well................................
-
Still a wonderful car for the next owner........
-
I think the point is that there is a perceived discount to a Bimmersport member....oh well...
-
Once experienced, never forgotten..Bugger, I`ve just woken up the 540 fans.. Maybe I should just settle down, pull up a selection of cold ones and wait for the big game tonight....................
-
Come on lads...everything is for sale. Seriously. 238 cash......
-
Couldn`t get over how good that boot looked, so I googled it. Your post comes up under CFL, but it sounds like it`s a CSL. Looks fantastic anyway........

And that wagon is a great looking car, but generally when one goes to `The Market`, then it can be a nasty surprise. That`s just the way it is unfortunately. My e39` s well looked after, but for now I would rather not know what it`s worth. It`s a keeper.
-
Couldn`t agree more. Drive it for a year and then see what it`s worth. These `Time Capsule` cars are a bit of an oddity and there are a couple popping up now in the UK. Restoration would be a lot more fun..
-
The e30 is a classic ( with the right set of owners , and we are talking alignment when it comes to baseball caps here) I`m not sure the e36 is..
-
If you`re going to be a scarfie next year, we`re talking the E30. That was my first one. Some time ago. Great cars...........
-
You`re right Olaf...they do have a great reputation. However, bearing in mind the address of the original Trade me poster (sounds like a guy working out of a Skyline garage `out back of his house` ) I would run a mile at full speed....... Obviously it sold though, hopefully there isn`t a poor punter on a Merecedes Benz forum right now asking about `strange noises from under zee bonnet...........`

i`ve just had maintenance done on my cooling system by the good lads at Victoria Street Motors. My viscous coupling fan failed the rolled up newspaper test so they replaced it, along with the water pump and thermostat. Heater is now unreal, I can`t let it run at over 18 degrees.Car makes a nice woofing noise on start up which I guess means the the fan wasn`t working too well previously. As Justin says the M52 doesn`t like to overheat. The viscous fan is there for a reason so I couldn`t imagine getting rid of it.The fan coupling itself cost $260 bucks .Whole maintenance job slightly more. Gotta watch the cooling system in an e39. Why risk ruining the car ??

I`m intrigued about this Graham, as I`m a 928 fan as well. I just won`t go near one in terms of actually buying one. But this car can`t be here, hiding in plain sight and available for sale surely. With no paperwork at all.
-
Exactly...it can`t be hiding here with no permit and no history surely ? I`ll bet it`s ex Japan. If the original importer effed up it should have been offered up for sale as a breaker, and i`ve seen the odd one on Trade me. They don`t just sit around waiting for someone to try and get a permit later do they ?

Cheers Paul...it`s all about attitude I guess. And we`ve all heard the joke about the difference between a Porqupine and a Range Rover ..
-
It`s an e30..keep it clean and away from the reverse baseball cap crowd and the world will beat a path to your door... And the 2 litre is of course an in line 6.......not a baby at all..
-
What...paying for someone else`s damage or getting the primo spot by the doors.. ? We`re talking survival mode here Paul.. PS: A sense of humour goes a long way...maybe I`m just having you on........................
