Yeah the dizzy type one the entire housing can rotate and throw timing off, so unless you have done it with a timing light then it could be a couple degrees retarded.
-
Either your timing is too retarded (do you have an early m20 with dizzy under manifold?) Or a blocked cat if it has one?

E30 Subframe bushing replacement - help
e30ftw replied to Evo30's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
You can make tools easy with a long bolt and some big washers to tighten against the subframe and push the bushing out as you turn it. You will want to burn them and the fuel tank and blow the car up if you try do it without removing the rear end. It's a nightmare. -
I have also read mixed things on the e90 drop hats. Good to see they do make a difference, 15mm is all I need. Putting this mod back on my radar.

I did my swap in 2 days. 6 months of preparing parts and 2 days to swap it in and running. Just took an extra week to get someone to weld up my exhaust.
-
M5 e28 or 335i mounts work. That's what I am using. Power steering is a good question, this stumped me unknowingly and I didn't prepare during the swap. Was a freaking nightmare to sort once the engine was in to change the lines. The pump hose fittings are different, you can use e30 lines to feed the pump by you need to use an e36 high pressure hose with some tender hammer love to fit from the high pressure output of pump to rack. Not sure if an m50 pump fits m52 would be worth checking, e30 lines fit it perfectly (I've done both swaps that's why I assumed m52 was the same but the fittings got me)

Depends if you plan on retaining the crank vent stuff. I found it easier to delete and just route the crank case to the intake. All depends on how you did the m50 manifold install, if you kept the ccv system then you will need to weld a tube into the side or rig something up for the oil to drain back to the sump.
-
It should fit fine, just turn it so it pops out right behind the alternator. The e34 only had m50 manifolds so it should fit as it does in an m50 unless the tubes bent weird.
-
Was in regards to differences between b20 and b25 manifolds which it clearly illustrates. No ones talking about installation or benefits vs loses here.

Read: http://84.45.115.78/e30zonewiki/index.php/M5x_Inlet If you do cams with the manifold it's well worth it.

Half the fun is people not knowing what's in it

After a siemens ECU for an M52B28. Must be one of these versions; DME only no related EWS stuff. 1744711 1429373 1429472 1432401 1429895 1429861 1429999

You would think when there's 10 guys there it wouldn't be too hard. 1 guy in the roller, 1 guy out with his shovel, 1 guy spraying water, 2 guys standing there watching them then another 5 guys chilling in a truck across the road having a smoke.

An s54 itself will run you over 15k to get one plus bits to fit it into an e30. -
Mine had stock springs with H&R sports, The rears were OK the front's were Barely captive, ALot better with Koni adjustables. Good springs though, Kind of rides rough on sh*tty Wellington roads.

Lol quoted from the 325i Motorsport - " it had incredible acceleration the three times I tried it out. "

-Alias- owns a set of cam alignment tools if you need, I have them at the moment but haven't got around to using them cos camshafts look like a pain in the ass.

Hardly a rocket, but a lot more fun than a m20b20 -

Bigger displacement, better engine management, motor weighs less, more torque and power. It's the exact same as swapping an m50, the only extra is getting around EWS but if you get all the bits from the same car it isn't an issue. Or you can get the DME flashed and EWS removed which is what I did since I couldn't get the EWS box etc. -
m62? Where are you finding all these motors haha, Going turbo? For another e30 or going V8 with this one?

I e-mailed dotcomparts to give me a proper quote as I believed their quote system was wrong, they gave me a proper quote and if I wanted to buy gave me their paypal to send the money to and details. Yeah I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount on a muffler, I have read alot of good things about the magnaflow and if you have a listen to them on e30's on Youtube they sound good.
-
So they replied already @$250 USD shipped. Locking it in before they change their mind. Thanks Michael!
-
Yeah I would think so too, Just emailed for a quote. Oh really, thought it was mandatory on all auctions cos I noticed the same on EBay Aus too. Maybe I'll have another look through.
-
dotcomparts do the muffler for $154 US, But $298 US shipping.. Ebay would be cheapest if it weren't for that stupid tax sh*t they do now. Surely somewhere local deals with reasonable priced euro mufflers?
