Lol quoted from the 325i Motorsport - " it had incredible acceleration the three times I tried it out. "

-Alias- owns a set of cam alignment tools if you need, I have them at the moment but haven't got around to using them cos camshafts look like a pain in the ass.

Hardly a rocket, but a lot more fun than a m20b20 -

Bigger displacement, better engine management, motor weighs less, more torque and power. It's the exact same as swapping an m50, the only extra is getting around EWS but if you get all the bits from the same car it isn't an issue. Or you can get the DME flashed and EWS removed which is what I did since I couldn't get the EWS box etc. -
m62? Where are you finding all these motors haha, Going turbo? For another e30 or going V8 with this one?

I e-mailed dotcomparts to give me a proper quote as I believed their quote system was wrong, they gave me a proper quote and if I wanted to buy gave me their paypal to send the money to and details. Yeah I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount on a muffler, I have read alot of good things about the magnaflow and if you have a listen to them on e30's on Youtube they sound good.
-
So they replied already @$250 USD shipped. Locking it in before they change their mind. Thanks Michael!
-
Yeah I would think so too, Just emailed for a quote. Oh really, thought it was mandatory on all auctions cos I noticed the same on EBay Aus too. Maybe I'll have another look through.
-
dotcomparts do the muffler for $154 US, But $298 US shipping.. Ebay would be cheapest if it weren't for that stupid tax sh*t they do now. Surely somewhere local deals with reasonable priced euro mufflers?
-
You definitely want an e30 then. Garunteed to spend all your spare cash and time underneath it.

Looks pretty good to me, for 177kms. Block is clean as unless you did that. I saw it come up during the week and was thinking I should pull a sicky and head down there haha, wish I did.

Where does everyone buy their rear tip mufflers from? I need something to replace mine with, without losing the deep BMW sound of an OEM muffler. Anyone local deal with Magnaflow mufflers? The 14815 seems perfect for what I want, or if anyone can suggest similar priced / sounding ones locally in NZ? Anything dual round stainless tipped, 3" max. I've heard of e36 m3 mufflers being used too, with abit of DIY. The Magnaflow 14815 - I'd buy one of Ebay but they are a rip with that import tax they now have,

You can do it for half of that easily, you can find m50 or m52 motors for less than 1000, depending where from and kms. The rest is pretty easy to find too, spend another 500 or so replacing seals and gaskets and cooling system bits so its all fresh when you install. Gearbox and bits also easy and plenty of bolt in options. If the e36 is a solid runner, I wouldn't bother butchering it just for the m50 in it. Looks to be pretty nice. -

Did my swap in 2 days but got held up by getting the exhaust manifolds welded up. As long as you get all the right bits its a bolt in and plug and play with electrics if you make your own adapter using a e36 fuse box plug and m20 engine loom plug so you can plug in the e36 loom at one end then into the e30 fuse box at the other. -
I turned up a couple minutes after you got there for this lol.

Anyone have the cam blocks and tools for an m52 that I can borrow / "hire" ? Can't find the last thread with who possibly had some (maybe Thorburn from memory?) PM is full though.
-
Sounds like DanThe from e30zone?
-
Wow not bad at all from a 2.0 . What changes did you need to do to get the S50 ITB's up and running in terms of engine management, or is this now on standalone?
-
I have a pair of 325i rear trail arms with half shafts, Could be persuaded to part with. I've also done the m52 swap if you have questions
