You can shorten them by how much shorter the actual spring length is. The captive part applies to both front and rear, if a front shock is too long, the shock can extend so much that the spring sits inside top mount and strut loosly. To shorten the shocks you need to take them to an engineer who can cut then machine a new end on the shock. They will shorten the insert part, then lathe / machine and tap thread on the end so it matches how the top was before it was cut (so you can attach the top mount on again). I used to get them done at a local auto engineer for $40 each, length cut should not matter as it involves the same amount of work cutting it and then re-machining the tip.

You should shorten them for a couple reasons, Mainly to stop the shock bottoming out and also to keep the spring captive (Like when you raise the car, the shock does not extend out so long that the spring ends up loose in the perch) Depends on how much lower though. Up to an inch or two is usually fine. e30 stock height vs super lows is like a 3" + drop and you would definitely need shortened shocks.

Another thing you can see hes bypassed the heater core. He also says it doesn't work. Maybe it leaked at some stage and he's gone and bypassed it? There's always something dodgy with even the seemingly well maintained. Heater core replacement is a hell of a job too as the dash needs to come out. That's if you ever wanted to fix it..

It's not an M325i its just a 4 door e30 325i with added M-tech2 kit etc, It's not mint but reasonable.. I'd go 4.5k - 5k max considering it's only auto

I have a pair of rear half-shafts I may keep as spares, but they are from an ABS rear end e30. Hard to find a definitive answer - Do the ABS shafts fit into NON-ABS rear hubs? Anyone got some that they can compare?

There does look to be a cert plate on the left strut tower. It needs better photos though. There was another e30 m50 on there just recently for only $6300 looked quite tidy, bronzit. I guess someone snapped it up or the auction ran out. *edit - wait no here it is! http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-599871286.htm

His was m52, tech2 and pretty sure he parted it out. Unless it's the shell of it.

The facelift e30 tank has 2 level senders, as the tank is separated around the driveshaft - Pre facelift had a pipe connecting the 2 halves at the bottom but the facelift one does not, so uses 2 level senders to read the level and I believe syphons fuel to the pump side somehow, or maybe theres a transfer pump on that side

It's a center, whatever diff you put it in will be what ratio it is. In other words you could grab any medium case open diff and have the ring gear swapped onto the LSD center and put back into the diff to make it an LSD..

Tinting It is illegal to apply any kind of tint film, tint paint or opaque sticker to any lamp which has a function other than decoration (eg non-cosmetic). Seems fine?

Anyone got a new e30 Facelift Fuel pump lying around? Will try Milland and Euro Italian tomorrow but eager to see if someone has one spare somewhere!!!
-
Ok that was WAY to easy, All you need to do is remove the 13mm bolt from the back, then you can squeeze the 2 hooks towards eachother and the seats release! Now I seem to have a problem with no power going to the fuel pump (tets light comes up very dim) so going to have to be on the hunt for cut wires I'm thinking, anyone know where the fuel pump wires run?? I've got power at the fuel pump relay, power at fuse 11 during cranking, If I jump the relay to turn on the pump there is little to no power going to the pump. Arghh WTF

Still looking awesome! What you got in mind for a project? New car or new mods?

Probably way more expensive through BMW. VAC has it way cheaper. http://www.vacmotorsports.com/catalog/bmw-...evo-3-suede.htm
