  2. My Audi's check light came on and it was the TPS, adjusted it so it clicked at closed throttle again and the fault went away.

  6. I have 3/4 of a mint interior..... this is the cloth- covers the whole seat, not just the centre strip. Am after one perfect seat in this cloth, 2 front seats in a similar coloured cloth, or a whole perfect e30 sedan interior. ANOTHER question, will E30 coupe seats fit in my sedan?
  7. Some people are mature, some are not. Communication in the problem here- and unfortunately car mechanics- rarely rubs shoulders with a degree in communications. We just need to grin and bear it really- without a bouncer at the door carrying out psycometric tests, issues will remain.... Dont expect too much from people and you will not be disappointed

IDle control valve for a 1985 M10 318i, it is the in- line inlet/outlet model, all grey wih skinny cylindrical motor housing parallel to the air flow. will get pic and/ or part number when i can. Also my digital clock is entirely missing its light and the wire and socket that should be there..... so does anyone have an analogue one? at least i can see one of those in daytime!
  16. I had typed a big spiel, but delete, and sumarise that yes- my family and I will be glad to see the back of 2009 more than any year before it (besides bad years for deaths). Bring on '10!!

I have a 1985 low km's 318i, engine runs like a dream and is in very good order, but wont hold idle at cold... she will fire immediately but wont stay running. any amount of throttle big or small will have her running sweet and idling within 10 ish seconds....... She starts and idles first pop every time when warm The cold start injector works fine The coolant temp sensor is fine The ICV (old scool compared to motronic!) appears fine as the idle is very steady when idling. I cleaned it out anyway. The car also idles in neutral at 1000rpm when warmed up, which is too high. The Bottom plate of the AFM has been pulled off at a time and shoddily siliconed- up, i re did this in a much more tidy fashion. No idea why it was taken off as there is very little to see under it unless i dunno, a pet rat was trapped inside! Any experienced ideas?

  19. I agree- quattro is worth piss all when coupled with my auto box! I do like the torque biasing diff though
  20. Hmm yes id say a 20V turbo urQ would be worth around 40, lesser ones seem to be around 20-30. Sportquattros are something like 300,000 or whatever the seller demands! Dont be such a hater... your opinion is a little too strong, cant you seperate things and see a car for its merits?
  21. bla. they dont insist, just dont really care... easy way to define in general terms whats good about the car. rear SLS usually needs replacing at some point and i hear is big bikkies, some seem to replace with non- SLS. i'd love one! but then i love all mercs of that era
  22. Hot! i love anything factory different...... i'd prefer the mid- flat green they also came in.... SO much hotter but im not sure i've ever seen one. Crossing my fingers thatone of my cars sells and ill have a look!
  23. Good idea buying one! we have had a topagee 4 berth for about 30 years and just got it re- canvassed last year at around $2k and shes like new again! The canvas is the only part that goes on them, provided the axle/chassis etc isnt rusted and old. We looked at buying a new one a year or so ago but the equivalent costs $28k new and i just dont see the point!

    Had a gutsfull!

    Friends of mine just traded their V10 and lancruiser vx for a v6 toureg and tiguan.... old toureg used TOO MUCH fuel etc etc, and landcruiser was too big...... That may mean giltraps have a V10 for sale just traded i guess!
