Cheers guys, I have had a look at trademe to no avail- may as well go get/order a new one from bmw. I usually do just fork out when needed, but figured i'm not looking for 'last 20 years' quality in reality

the 120i still has a leak SOMEWHERE that every now and then drips onto manifold and stinks out the car.... BMW couldnt find it yet still reamed 500 bucks out of mum... good luck!

For energy I drink a LOT of water.... and i run every day and sleep properly. I'm pretty much freaked of the amount of sugar and other bad crap in energy drinks and the like, similar story with coke....

Righto so grabbed a working sensor off Brent today, and in the absence of a good AFM, I adjusted my own one until she ran sweet in the different situations that she used to be a bit rough. The starting problem is definitely related to cold start valve..... Generally she starts fine when properly warm, but leave her for long enough or until cold and instead of starting; she will fire and then die immediately. Disconnecting either the cold start injector's plug, or the thermo time sensor's plug fixes this problem. As brent suggested today, could it be flooding at startup? A point to note is that when the old dead thermo- time sensor was still in, she did NOT start very easily at ALL when fully cold at 7am etc

Nice! i didnt see this when i was there? Although I am pretty blind at the best of times. Cheers for your time today Brent!

i'm after one of these: realoem number 4- temp-time sensor for my M10... it is VDO 1274 625.3 also has 35 degrees 12 sec stamped on it...... also after a 1985 318i airflow meter, last 3 numbers 050. I have an odd starting problem where she starts and then immediately stalls (when cold) so am finding problem by deduction! She starts fine with a bit of gas for a few seconds....

I feel for you... a while ago i had rust holes both above and below the steering column repaired, and also a re- rusted badly patched battery tray area completely removed and replaced!

I have a 1985 318i M10 with 120,000 genuine km. Sometimes there is a god awful clatter from the timing chain, generally once it gets warmer as opposed to cold. The tensioner is pressing against the chain fine, and the spring is intact. The tensioner is oil/spring type. I have replaced a chain on my 230e before which was stretched at 200,000km but had an audible grinding noise as the stretched chain links located on the original- spacing cogs. The 318i does not make this noise. When not rattling, the engine is silky smooth which is apparenty rare for an M10! soooOOOO my question is: Is the problem soley viscosity- related and should I first change the oil with the recommended, or after 25 years regardless of kM, has the tensioner spring lost some of its guts and might it need replacing? This seems less likely, as sometimes the engine does not rattle at all. I'm nor really sure of labour split between oil pressure/ spring pressure. cheers!

People should stop butting in on onther peoples auctions- negativity is rarely constructive, and never mature or admirable. caveat emptor

My alpina e30 had the 6x9 holes patched and welded up very basically and it was certed so it could get a wof.... wasnt an issue at all

Yo, 5 years ago i installed a basic alarm in a 1990 316i in no time at all, why was it so easy then, and so hard now??!! I have a 1985 318i sedan and have no idea how i knew which wires were lock/ unlock last time. Can anyone tell me which wires these are behind the kick panel in my 318? The rest are simple, but these two have me stumped... Cheers boys Nathan

Seems like its just Atta and me who properly like the car... And I would argue that it isnt bad taste at all. It is individual and devoid of mainstream influences or fads- no rusty bonnets, tv screens for every passenger, massive stereo or ultra deep- dish rims. That guy doesnt need a badge to show off with, just well executed classic muscle car proportions with a point of difference

THere are a few phantom- esque chinese cars out there! Also they did a blatant copy of the X5 with a different rear side window. The rest of those cars arent so interesting or consequential as copies. The Great Wall cars are fun to spot whos parts bins they raided to make the utes!

I actually far prefer it as a mustang!- the lambo looks like a car a cock would drive.... i dont think i could be seen in that

If i still had my big audi or e class i'd have N G H, our neighbour years ago used to have C A G (his initials and i thought it suited his big bmw. Wish i could remember his wifes 330ci's plate, it was the only e46 made in the particular shade of bright yellow im pretty sure... Yep in fact one is for sale at the mo.... edit: what you are saying is that you saw the one for sale, i get it now:P
