Yes nice and basic. I too have read diffo info on head bolts Be aware I wasn't putting it back together to put in my car. The M10 in mine is fine, in fact I just found a receipt for rings and bearings done at 100,000 I admit, economically it doesn't make sense to rebuild it as I could easily spend $300 on it and only sell it for what.... $250? Like you said. But I dunno, its still a great learning exp. When I'm done, you can have it for $125 which is what I bought it for if you like. I want to clean it first as thats the best way in the world to learn all about a thing. Hotwire - thank you. I deffo need to invest in a feeler gauge. What should one look for in an oil pump? oh and my E30 isnt for sale at the mo as I'll need it for the next month.

Withdrawn... did it sell, break, or are you back in love with it?

I bought an M10 off Tim a wee while ago to pull apart for shits and giggles. I thought it would be a good simple enigne to play with for a newbie, and it has. It also had the advantage of being the same as whats in my E30. I have made some good mistakes to learn from, most notably pulling the sump with the engine on the garage floor... guess what was in the sump . Ha. I didn't really intend on putting it back together - it only cost a full tank of gas. But Its mostly apart now and I want to first make it shiny, then put it back together and even make it run, if thats possible without it being in car. I'd like advice on all the bits that NEED to be replaced, and those that could/should be replaced. At the moment as far as NEEDS go, I know all the gaskets incl. head gasket need replacing. As for shoulds/coulds, I beleive its piston rings, valve stems, valve stem seals and any hoses that are squishy or cracked. But surely there is more... What screws, nuts, and bolts need to replaced when putting back together, if any? Does any compulsory machining need to be done when putting back together? I heard rumor about some crankshaft bearings... can anyone elaborate? Any scraps you care to chuck at me are much appreciated. Cheers.

Welcome. Nice wheels. See you around sometime at a meet, if not tomorrows one.

Gee thats pretty good going
-
Gee how did you manage that? You only see that in big psi turbo threads

Interesting elmarco Mine are relatively flat, although a little bit convex I can see the bulb inside, under a shade. Can also see the little park light bulb under the main one. It would appear to be a semi then. Thanks you very much for the help. Any idea what bulb I need off the top of your head? My manual is not with me Thanks again, brilliant help!

How other bs members, or anyone for that matter, bids is very interesting to me. The psychology part of it, what tactics they employ and why. My comment on what I would pay for an armrest is purely subjective and I did not want to influence anybody. Perhaps the comment should have been in a diff thread, probably was a little stirry, but whatever. I was not attacking you. Your response is rather rude. "0212HELLBM if you need to say something." - hmmm. The last time I called that number the guy was a rude soandso (both to me and my mech), after sending me sh*t parts. Can't see myself calling it again tbh yip. He'll have no probs they sell like hotcakes

Are they the same wheels zenetti is selling?

My last tm exp has been awesome. Got a brand new heavy duty engine stand for $40! Just picked it up today. New search function is good too I've never been snapped for mb numbers... gotta disguise it.

Yea I thought thats what he was going for. Second bidder obviously was. I believe waiting till the last minute is a sounder tactic. Its already gone way past what I could ever see myself paying for a bloody armrest! Be interesting to see.

Oh. I only heard it from the bentley manual, and thats a US publication I think. hmm. Mines NZ new. Bit rainy to check now. Cheers for that

Everybody google "e30 forums" or something along those lines. Then google "e36 forums" Compare how many of each you see. Theres the diffo. Even though there are a lot more e36s on the road, there are twice as many e30 enthusiasts.

Nice 2ring Deffo hit up Keith for some front shocks he is the bomb
-
The E36 is SO boring to look at. And way too many of them are 'chav' spec. I would upgrade to an e36 of same grade given the opportunity. I would then sell it straight away, but the E30 back and have made 1000 odd dollars. But one cannot argue with the fact that the e36 has a nicer interior, more modern. Bet this thread gets closed.

Crockett... I could afford an e36 if I wanted but anything past e 30/34/32 does not appeal cause they dont look as good. Too bland looking, especially the e36! Can of worms officially opened
