My insurer who I wish to stay with due to all the other polices we hold with them has depreciated the E30 to a value far below what it would cost to replicate. Has anyone had any experience in obtaining a valuation on a “rare†car that insurance company’s cant indentify as being rare? They suggested I get a written letter from a BMW club member identifying its rarity and value and to also state that these vehicles are not depreciating but in fact appreciating. As none have sold in recent times I can’t come up with a figure. I wish to insure it for $12,000 Thanks.

What’s the fault code for “someone has pissed in your tank†? My sisters E39 (same colour as yours) has the message “slow cat overheat†showing when she starts it up, I told her the car has a built in cat sensor to ensure she doesn’t run one over and she believed me. She is blond also.

Im a Hilux Surf man trough and trough, growing up the olds had four or five of them and I learnt to drive in a 5-speed 3.0L TDI.. learnt to drift also. Can’t go wrong with a Prado though, the olds looked at both when purchasing the last Surf (back in 1995 they had the first newer shape Surf to come into NZ) they had and opted for the Surf purely because it was more car like to drive with independent front suspension and less weight, the Prado is more rugged and most likely has a better towing rating as an upside.

Mustn’t be a real Ralley then, they are slow as fork.

Flew to Colorado to pick up a sight unseen car...

Epic drive! And I was thinking Australia was big. Enjoy your new car. -
Yea, it has been repaired at least twice before so I have a sinister plan to rectify the problem, with a bit of help from my mate the plastic welding guru I plane on fitting the bumper insert from a M-Tech E36. Thanks mate, will call you tomorrow.

Dam, I thought it was an actual E30 M5. I saw a AE86 Supra once, was racing a BFMR RX7 so cool. If he were a Mad Man you wouldn’t have seen it in a straight line with all that M5 power!!!

Team McMillan in New Market can get you one. If the price of a Tech-II upper is anything to go by it won’t be cheap. It will however be brand new.

Get an IS lip. Get a Perm

One hell of a car for the money, rough as f**k but definite potential.

So you want to sell it then?? Keen to have a look if you do, im not concerned with condition as I am having the lower valance and rear bumper straightened, crack repaired then painted anyhow. Thanks

So general consensus is that this is cool? The missus is dead keen on it, we are looking at Z4’s, has anyone had a close look at it?

X2 I used to roll with my front mount exposed… felt like a complete knob and was constantly harassed by old people, my missus old man RIP Al sprayed an old radiator silver and cable tied it to his Maxima.. was epic lol.

I think any carbon looks crap nowadays… Cheap carbon is the new chrome.

Wow, I totally missed you were a chick and have been assuming you were a dude thinking oh dear, a dude in an EVO with no bumper, how original can this guy be in 09.... but your a girl!!!! Its funny how a dude driving a Evo is considered a chump 99.9% of the time but a chick, well, a chick driving an EVO is awesome!! That colour blue is rare as f**k and is an EVO-II exclusive colour write? Oh, and well done on the 320i. Welcome to Bimmersport.

Thanks I dont know how you do it. That looks as good as knew it would. Can’t help but imagen even with the helmets and stickers the occupants would still look homosexual driving it. I hear they invented this hue after mixing their two gayest colours (Homax Dakar and Homax Technodancingviolet) together in an attempt to make one ultra gay colour for the Australian market and it turned out all manly.

Sounds nice. He is driving how anyone would on a race track. Got any info on the car? I never even knew a E30 M5 existed, must be mega expensive considering the price of the E30 M3.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-209271151.htm What an odd colour, its like they are trying to distract us from the bad lines and odd proportions. Lowered on Black wheels with a army sign on the side it could looks cool.

One last try before I head off to BMW and give them my $800 On that note I have a few parts to order (E46 328ci control arm bushes, 328ci front brake pads, and some E30 steering components) anyone get discounts on parts and want to help me out?? I can hook you up with apparel, embroidery, screen printing, Frucor drinks or car cleaning products from Meguiars or Mothers at cost as a trade. Cheers Graham

Good to hear we all have moments. Started a thread as a place for anyone to have a bitch about how your old car is annoying you and costing a fortune to maintain. Great feed back and reassurance to keep her will only come from fellow enthusiasts so its good to have a place to moan.

I thought Georges car was old, would be late nineties wouldn’t it. You guys chose to own unreliable compromised cars with the pay off of performance when all is good. Thinking about taking a few bits and bobs off my old girl and passing her on, the novelty is fading fast. Cut my losses and move on

Nice car. Nice work on other projects also.
