Meh, Westys M50 manifolded car goes like f**k, much harder than other 2.8 beamers I have owned/driven. It simply walked away from another 328i at a recent track day. I have no doubt at all the M50 works well. Would love to see a drag race.

Maybe across America, they don’t have corners…

Welcome to Bimmersport. WHY ALL THE SHOUTING?
-
That certainly is terrific!! Nice buying.

For $1500 they best be coilovers. Will look good with the 19" wheels..
-
If they would fit a E46 I would offer $700

No. We were just offered one cheep that belongs to a friend of my mother, they are trading up to a new one and offered it to her at trade-in price, very tempting. Thanks.

Yes, thanks that help a lot. Reason I ask is that on test drives in these sorts of cars I am often nervous and don’t get to have a good feel as to how something works nor do I get to give the car a good workout as the dealer/owner is sitting there.

What’s general consensus on the SMG II gearboxes fitted to the 2001-2002 BMW M3’? Do they have issues/bugs? Pro’s/Cons? Feedback from people who have actually had long term experience with them would be appreciated, don’t want to hear from know-alls that have little to no experience

I know, it was an 01, I brought it in 03 for lots and lots then sold it in 06 for f**k all as by 06 every GE-Money customer in South Auckland had a Gaytezza and they were worth nothing I know the current owner, he was at a Dyno day I attended recently.

Best whip them off, de-tyre them and have them fixed and repainted if you want them mint. Doing the prep work cuts cost down, should be about $75 per wheel and you should get them all done so they match. Problem is the inconvenience if you need the car during the week.

Seats are cloth “Recaroâ€, driver’s seat has a few tears in it but the rest is mint, have been looking for a replacement but nothing has popped up in cloth for a 4 door/ Touring. I will have them redone in Pantera leather by Retro Vehicle enhancements at some stage as I want to recover without the Pleat lines. Fitted a 525i Motor and had to retain the 320i throttle body so that the intake pipe would fit, the 525i runs a different pipe. Spottswoode. That’s the one, have had a plethora of Toyota’s over the years, a limited edition (3/100) TTE Lexus IS200 Compressor being the reason for the plate. TTE is the German company that built the WRC and Le manse (s) cars for Toyota and they now run the Toyota F1 programme. Awesome company. And as they say in Motorsport, its only cheating if you get caught. Some info on them and their road product, my IS200 had the entire catalogue + more fitted a factory. http://www.tte.de/ Cheers guys.

Na, the bushes were from Autoline, Nolithane brand. They could be found for cheaper im guessing, I was just in a lazy mood that day. Cheers guys, she’s one nice wagon to drive now, not fast but rewarding if that makes sense. Will hopefully get a new front bumper, fix the rear one and have them freshly painted in the next couple of months.

Drifts off into dream world… I like the look of the shadowline on a 7.

Not a very big fan of the KYB replacements, I find them to be way too soft. Good work.

If I have a brand new 2027 M3 and a 20 year old missus when im 45 I’ll be a happy man..

These will have been done by a few of you but I thought I would post my findings. Upgraded January. Rear sway bar links $97+GST Nolithane link inserts $29.05+GST Rear sway bar mount bushes $42.92+GST Front sway bar Bushes $42.92+GST Front sway bar mount bushes $42.92+GST Lower Control arm bushes $204.38 Prices posted for member and future reference I had been meaning to do these bushes for a while and I wish I hadn’t waited, they have transformed the cars behavior big time, it now turns in crisp and stays neutral (no more under steer) throughout the bend and is adjustable (read oversteer) with he smallest inputs from either the throttle or a tug on the wheel, the car is now less jerky through gear changes and the ride is more composed although it comes at a cost to comfort as I can now feel every bump in the road as well as some harsh feedback through the steering wheel due to the mega stiffness of the bushes. If you enjoy driving this is a must do for the E30. I did 300km yesterday and still wanted to keep going. Im totally amazed at how well these little expensive pieces of urethane work, best mod I have done so far, .. Upgraded February Car didn’t feel like it was opening up quite enough and was idling poorly. Booked it in at Botany Motor Works and they carried out the following. Fitted Larger bore 325i Throttle Body New Larger Rubber intake hose New Idling Control Valve. New Throttle Position Sensor Install Carbon Air Box properly and fabricate factory looking mounts Reposition crank sensor and tuned the AFM mixtures. Car is now going well, all basic stuff but not something I have ever had to deal with on previous cars, the bill was horrendous (BMW parts) but I guess that’s the price you pay for owning an older vehicle. Will note the extractors are finally on and going well, had a few issues with clearance on the first set and issues with leaks on the second. .. It’s about this point I stop counting how much I have spent (owes me 17k now) and make a definite decision not to sell this car in a hurry. Funniest thing about this car is that people are constantly offering me money to buy it, more so when the missus is driving it, they assume she doesn’t realise what they are worth and make stupid offers.. Cheers Few Pics
