  1. Good point, you probably have a far superior knowledge of automobiles than me, Im stating formed opinion on what I have read and have been told. The 3UZ-??(or the 3S-GTE) in the GT500 cars is heavily modified and shares little with the road going version, we are talking road going engines here and we are not working with the massive budget and development team Toyota had when creating that race engine. The 1UZ-FE was designed as an economy engine not a performance engine, all vehicles with the “FE†head were regarded as the economical version. The IG-FE vs 3S-GE in the Altezza’s for an example. They never put the engine in a vehicle with sports orientations nor did they offer it with a Manual gear box. Bang for your buck the JZ engines are superior. How much would it cost to get a 1UZ-FE producing 300kw compared to a 1JZ-GTE??
  2. The Toyota JZ engine is a performance engine with easy tune-ability, the UZ is a economy engine designed to move heavy cars. Generally The JZ would be considered a superior engine, especially as a "High" performance base.
  3. Lol at that, my mate owns her own salon and is earning more than your average Joe in.. Plus $40,000 is bugger all for a car. It would be a hard choice for me but given the two parked in front of me and the offer of choosing one for free in under 5 seconds I would go for the E30.. Given a day to talk it over with the missus and think about what suits us best I would end up with the 46. Brain sais 46 heart sais 30.
  4. I was meaning what country as you mention Miles not Kilometres. You say service history, it this documented from new and does it include major repairs? I have test driven three now and all were complete dogs by my standards even with service histories. My offer was a joke, as in twenty six dollars and eighty five cents in response to you listing it as twenty seven dollars on trade me. Sorry, no such thing as E-Sarcasm. Would have to be the best available for that price.
  5. would you take $26.85?? Where is the car from??
  6. As would I, just throwing what would be the best bang for your buck out there.. No way around the fact you can pick up a Japanese straight six turbo and up size the turbo, injectors, intercooler and so on and get an easy 300kw for minimal costs. Have seen a 1jz-gte net over 200kw ATW with a simple piggy back.
  7. Best bang for your buck is going to come in the form of a 1JZ-GTE.. That way you have a mean engine to start with and can spend all the savings on a making the rest of the car up to task.
  8. Looks like a Japanese company decided they would jazz up a 318i with some MK parts/badges. MK-Motorsport The Japanese are good at spending a lot of money on nice parts then sending a fully kitted out car down under, I used to have a car with what worked out to have $35,000nz worth of extra’s fitted.

Japanese import?? My Mum has had one since new (nearly nine years) and not a thing has gone wrong bar a sagging window trim.. maybe it’s the 50,000km of unknown before you owned it.
  10. Yep, would need all that and yes you would end up a multiple amputee just siting there in your cardboard box looking it! Would be nice though.

The Mk4 GTI (or any 1.8-T VAG) can be troublesome, prefer the MK3 VR6 also, and they sound so so good with a big bore!
  12. I think he is thinking about Pork…. Got me thinking about pork now. ""Closes shop and heads to Roast shop""
  13. Haha, I read that as Aboriginal Parts and wondered what they had to do with BMW’s.. The cost of these engines make it a rather poor bang for your buck, awesome conversion but. The Internet has killed the day of stumbling across a bargain, everyone is now an opportunist.
  14. Good on ya man, my brother in-law is an assessor and there training is like the fricken army, they are instructed to find every which way out of a claim. I have no idea how insurance companies come up with numbers and figures or even stay in business. I insured my Touring for 15k because that’s what It owes me and if it went missing or was damaged it would be hard to replace, they didn’t seem to have any issue with that and they just charge me accordingly… They did however get my Number plate, address (even though they insure my house), Alarm/Immobiliser and name wrong. They charged us less to insure a Brand new 41k Turbo 2.0ltr Astra per year than my partners 15k 1.5Ltr Toyota IST?? They also billed the wrong person for an entire year before noticing.. then abused that person for not notifying them. I love my insurance company.
  15. 48V V8! Yes, considering they used cavemen technology up until the early nineties on everything bar M cars whilst most Japanese manufactures had multi valve mainstream from the mid 80’s that is truly quite remarkable. $250k for a new 750il!! That’s a sh*t load of money even by today’s standards, back them you could have built a subdivision

Had an Altezza (Lexus IS200-TTE) back in the day (when they were well over 40k) and it was the best handling car I have ever driven short of a E46 M3 but only because the M3 had much better steering feedback, the Altezza would have out done it in the tight stuff. Lovely cars, only reason I sold is because they got so dam common!
  18. Needs some mods but looks good. These cars have gone up in value big time!!
  19. A few years younger and it would be a E39 .. Love the BBS on the classic shaped E34. Looks like the old owners were handy with the polish and wax, I like!
  20. I like it.... Cars + Sidways = win in my books.
