  1. Im getting the bad places on mine recovered. How about we both go in on a second hand rear seat and split the fabric. That’s my picture in the first post. I wonder how we could find out if the shades are different. Looks like you only need the side bolster re done. I can recommend a place in Papakura. I can’t help it im Dutch

  4. I did think that and just assumed it was an old video as 90% the cars I saw in Bangkok were pre 2000.

Good luck with the sale mate, it looks really nice in white and has tones more appeal than the run of the mill Jap import E39. Are you upgrading?

Oddly the UNI-CHIP isn’t a chip its a live tune ECU Interceptor or piggyback and has been superceded buy the Kiwi developed MAP-ECU system that is fitted to MR-E34's car. Worth popping down to dyno day and finding out about. As said don’t waste your money on a K&N panel. A nice enclosed POD filter will give you some nice acoustics and you may gain slight throttle response.
  12. True that, we will be telling our kids about these magical cars that had eight cylinders. It could be worse, you could have ended up with a Holden. Enjoy your car
  13. Cool, but mine are growing in some weird fashion and need to be done in Hospital. Will check it out though, thanks guys! Happy friday the 13th to the rest of ya, may it be lucky.
  14. I just found out I need all four of wisdom teeth out at a cost of over $5,000, not feeling lucky on Friday the 13th.
  15. Yep its nuts but it seems to keep flowing though, something we can’t claim in Auckland. I will never say bloody Asian drivers ever again after being there I have a new found respect.
  16. It’s for sale. Just like the Astra. I don’t expect to sell the Astra in a hurry as there has been no interest what so ever…not even a stupid offer, so I thought id list the BMW just in case. I would like to reinvest some money. The Market is dead at the moment so it’s my backup plan. We will see what happens.

    GINA Light Visionary

Hey I could embroider & screen-print cars.. Could work out good for people in my trade.
  18. Im selling one also for half that and I haven’t had one phone call.. Good luck mate. It’s a shame we couldn’t just ship them off to Ausi!
  19. It could be cool if you were to customise the car a little bit further.. Some matching green mats and a different steering wheel would tie it in better. Individual is a nice word for it. Nice car though, NZ New?

It looks like a Z4 on ecstasy.. I like it. funny that you make reference to the Chris Bangle designs, I for one actually like them and see them mimicked in so many ways by different manufacturers now. Ugly no. Innovative yes.

    GINA Light Visionary

leftlanenews.com As promised, BMW today revealed photos and more information on its GINA Light Visionary Model sports car concept that features fabric body panels. Various motors and rib-like structures sit underneath the stretch-resistant synthetic fabric and change the shape and function of various aspects of the car based on conditions or driver wishes. Built on the discontinued BMW Z8 platform — complete with its 5.0-liter V8 — the GINA Light Visionary shares design cues from BMW's current production models and appears to be a preview of the next-generation Z4. BMW's design chief, Chris Bangle, hopes the car is a showcase of what could be possible in 10 years' time, when drivers could choose a shape for their vehicle at the touch of a button. The GINA's innovative body is underpinned by wires or flexible carbon struts where movement is needed, such as in ducts, doors and rear spoiler. There are no gaps between body and door, for example, as the flexible fabric acts like a hinge itself. When not needed, the headlights are covered by the fabric skin, and turn signals are likewise invisible until they are switched on, revealing only their light source through the translucent skin. At higher speed, the rear trunk lid spoiler grows for additional stability. The size of the intake can also be adjusted, providing more cooling or induction air for the engine, as needed. Doing so means the material needs to go somewhere, and extra character lines, as BMW puts it — we say folds — give the car a slightly different look. The movements extend into the interior as well, with the steering wheel and instruments sitting idle until settling into position around the driver, after a button is pressed. While a production car with such stretchable body panels is not likely to make it into production any time soon, Bangle says the experience helped BMW's stylists push the envelope with steel forming in its products. GINA loosely stands for Geometry and Functions in "N" Adaptations. Source: http://www.leftlanenews.com/bmw-gina.html

  23. J R's Suspension & Tyre Workshop 24 Elliott St Papakura 0-9-298 6810 He is a good guy and loves BMW's. Had the 545 done on Monday. Kevin (Owner operator) has a new machine and he is very capable. He has two race cars of his own and has valuable experience with Targa cars and the like.. Im not saying he is the best but for one he is honest and does a great job. BMW stated that my lower control arm bushes were worn oon e pre perchase check so that’s why I initially booked the car in, now any other shop would have just replaced them to make a buck were Kevin simply tested them and reported that there were no signs of wear. I appreciate honesty.
