A friend of mine’s Mother is selling her 318ti and I thought I would be bold and post it up here. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=156683429 It’s a tidy little car and would be good as a run around. I can personally attest (and im a fussy bugger) as to how well this car has been looked after, it has higher KM’s but 110,000 have all been clocked up in the last 5 years cross country as she travels return trip of near 90km a day! Also Im selling my Astra if anyone is keen. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=156163857

Agreed, it looks like it may have been tweaked judging by its rid height (yes I know its cornering hard but it looks bloody low to me. Corvette is known to have tweaked a few things when trying to set lap records too. How did they test a 2009 car? Or is this Cadillac a Delorean in drag. What did the Nissan GTR do it in again?

Interesting, I have always thought the tail lights on the E90 look crap. There is an comparison between the new M3 Saloon, Lexus ISF and Mercedes Benz AMG C63 in the latest NZ AUTOCAR magazine.. With a very nice shot of the M3 drifting!
-
Yea, there painter really did a crap colour match on that one! Was that you Quicksilver (Jokes)? Very mean car, In black I would almost take one over a Brabus Bullet Black Label.

This would be ideal… I wonder how much freight would be? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1991-bmw-e30-m3-conv...1QQcmdZViewItem

Ha nice, I was reading this month’s NZ BMW magazine and it stated that the E30 M3 has nearly doubled in value over the last 5 years… the realistic dream might be nearing an end. One in good nick is worth the same as a E46 M3.. anyone noticed how quick these things are devaluing?

Good call on the sat nav.. its nice to have it built in though. Also factor in that half the menu will be in Japanese, the radio wont pick up your favorite stations (unless you like miFM) you wont be able to fit euro plates and your instruction book and service history will be un eligible if there at all.. Plus the cars system will make it hard for BMW nz to work on.. and then there is resale.

Yea what are you after? Good to know, Thanks Jochen. Don’t suppose you can comment on reliability in Singaporean imports. Having owned a Jap E39 with major electrical issues before (don’t know if you remember but you fixed the radio for me, was a blue 528i with a kit) im just trying to make sure my mate doesn’t end up in the same boat. Thanks Graham

From my scientific Gran Turismo 5 test driving facility, the 135i is not far behind an m3 on a medium speed circuit. I too question how good some of the drivers are in these tests as there are some shocking results! The Tii is a basically styling exercise, its is mechanically the same as the 135i although it is lighter thanks to a baron interior and frugal options. -
Thanks Jochen, hence why I was telling him to get NZ new or Singaporean as a Singapore import would simply need a NZ Sat-Nav DVD to work. Why do people avoid Singapore imports? What makes them so bad, I have been told it has something to do with humidity reeking havoc on the electronics but at 10-15k cheaper with half the KM’s and better specs its mighty tempting. My thoughts exactly.. So these cars have quite a few software problems? PS: the Jap imports only have a small space for the number plate and just look wrong.

this looks nice. http://www.autotrader.co.nz/UsedItemDetail...id=11A033199490 shame its a 3.0, always the way.

Ferrari F40 BMW M3 Sport Evolution (Full DTM/WTC spec) Porsche 911 GT3-RS (Lime green Black) Nissan GTR (current) Toyota AE86 Trueno GTV (well sorted, brand new condition black/white Panda, Blacktop 20v etc) But it will change tomorrow.

Meh, its not for me so I don’t really care. I actually don’t mind the look of it though, the bubble but and other cues are common place now amongst other manufacturers now.

I see a white (UK) import Touring around Papakura all the time now. Did they sell the 325i Touring new in NZ? Most I have seen are 320i’s. Also do you think putting a 2.5 in a 320i would devalue it or would it be safe to just put one in and not mention it when selling it? On the Storage front, I remember a story in the paper about a Porsche being driven around that was meant to be in storage and the guy/company got done big time for it! Kind of put me off ever leaving my car there but in saying that I don’t even like leaving my car at the dealership.

Some sound advice, I can imagine if something goes wrong with it It could be costly. I drove one yesterday and It went like sh*t of a stick, they quote 0-100 in 6 seconds which isn’t bad considering these things weigh as much as a land cruiser and deliver 11.4 average consumption. Will hunt out a NZ new one and compare.

Hey guys. A friend of mine is interested in buying a 2002 E65 745i and I said I’d ask. Anything I should know about this model? I have read that they had a few software problems when released but am struggling to find to many major faults to look for. We have looked at a few Singapore imports that seem very nice and have all the Kiwi spec bells and whistles including sat nav. Is there any reason why people avoid Singapore imports? Anyone had first hand experience with these cars? Thanks. Trade-Me

I own and manage an Embroidery-Screen printing and Apparel business called Apex Apparel. I work from a large studio on my residential property and have two company cars I don’t drive, go figure. Ford Falcons suck and the new one is no better, cheap horrible plastics. One upside is that they are priced accordingly.

That’s one mean machine! I would love to drive see that on a wet road -
They are an absolute beast, would love one down under! It held the title of quickest GM sedan up until the 06 VE GTS/R8.

I used Koni bumstops when certing a car years ago.. they are a good cm shorter and are made from urethane so don’t break.
-
I like the way he said it was the fastest saloon in the world… He obviously hasn’t heard of the Lotus Carlton. Nice looking car though, leather could use some shoe nugget and those wheels would be going in the shed if it was mine.
-
Nice one, have never thought of that, they are relative to another luxury manufacturer.
-
Nice, always has a soft spot for those.. Especially in that funny green Yea Bro, OEM FTW

I wouldn’t say that, it has a nice kit and is already lowered, first port of call for me wouyld be Trade-Me to hunt out some M3 wheels! Or some 318i Sport wheels. Im not sure if anyone remembers but BMW-NZ has a 318i near the end of the E36’s production run, it features a M3 kit and some nice multi spoked wheels. I remember driving one new and it was a nice little car. Was dark peppermint greenish colour.
