Im no expert but im under the impression that compressing the spring only shortens it and when lowering a car you really want to change the spring rate to compensate for reduced height..correct me if im wrong pro’s. Very nice, thats good power for a N/A 2.2. There was a very fast 2.2 powered Civic at the last track day I attended, it was an older generation than yours and was dark blue..had it not been raining im sure it would have posted top 5 lap times. I like the Type-S Prelude they were/are a quite achiever.. a relative bargain bang for your buck wise. Sorry no more Honda talk, I promise.

It’s not about maximum torque it’s about where the engine produces it. This is a funny old forum! Honda fan boys are annoying though and im glad im not the only person that has noticed how pathetic and annoying they can be. I have a Honda driving friend that always has an interesting “my Civic bet this in a race†story. Maybe Honda VTAC drivers just think every road is in actual fact a racetrack/drag strip and every car is actually racing them and buy passing them they have somehow won the world’s fastest car competition. I like to confuse them with the concept of low down torque and everyday drivability. Also, Im dyslexic so please don’t ban me due to bad grammar and spelling.

Talk to Keith our Forum Suspension sponsor… He really knows his stuff and can offer you some quality German/Dutch made springs for often bugger all more than Jamex/King's. He was a big help when it came to lowering my wagon! Account for a wheel alignment also.. Im guessing M&T include that in the $600.00. PS… Im not sure what mine has come down I have 40mm E30 in the front and 30-35mm E36 in the back. I should have measured.

It drove well as in it was only a cigarette box off the ground and didn’t bounce bugger all and still somehow absorbed bumps. It drove better than my old car on full low (70mm) H&R coilovers.

Do the shock absorbers work when the car sits that low?? Does lowering the car that much change the geometry of suspension and drive components putting them under major stress? Just wondering as I have owned tones of cars that low (a few got nice pink stickers) and they all dove like sh*t but BMW’s and Honda’s seem to go freakishly low and still drive ok though, a mate of mine had an E36 sitting lower than any I have ever seen on 18†wheels and still drove surprisingly well

Its missing when im actually driving, it runs fine 95% of the time and then all of a sudden starts playing up. I have checked the plugs and leads… there is a strong smell of petrol at times so im thinking its fuel related. Might have to bite the bullet and go see a pro
